SilverWolf072
Alright, last week I swapped the tranny in my Z as it was making a terrible grinding noise. Now my clutch will barely engage, the car can barely pull itself with the pedal all the way out. I put on the slave cylinder that originally went with the tranny and have adjusted everything I can think of. It looks like the slave cylinder is holding the fork out a bit too much in the static position. Is there anything I can do to fix this short of ripping the trans out and bending the fork? Guest Rolling Parts
There are different sized throw-out collars. I'm guessing the installed a longer one with the new tranny and it's too long? Here is a list of the different sizes you might encounter: http://www.zparts.com/zptech/articles/trans_swap%20parts/4tobear_specs1.html
ktm
Rolling Parts most likely nailed it. Grabbed the clutch fork and try to wiggle it. If it is jammed and there is no play what so ever, then you've got the wrong collar. Another possibility is that the throwout bearing is not fully seated on the collar. Did you change throwout collars and the bearing? If so, when pressing the new bearing on it may not be fully seated on the collar.
