Guest Aaron Posted July 16, 2002 Share Posted July 16, 2002 A buddy and I are considering building a care for the challenge (probably will be the $2004 challenge by the time we are done). I would love to do a z, but i am afraid the cost would be a little two high. Anyway, so far, we have a pinto he got for $100 and a 351W for $150. We are pretty sure we can build a fast drag car, but neither of us have done any autox type of racing. Obviously, we need to get the car done and get some seat time at some autox events, but what type of cheap modifications would you guys suggest to make the car handle? Large wheels and tires are obvious. We will look for a larger front sway bar, add a rear sway bar, new shocks, and lower the car (cut front coils, lowering blocks in the back).
