bedow Posted November 30, 2009 Share Posted November 30, 2009 hey i was wondering if any body could give me some insight on the relays on the fuel pump for my 79 zx, i think i found the one in the engine compartment, all though the haynes manual is showing i should have two in the relay box in the engine bay, my box has only one in it, there is a spot for another but when you look in the holes where one would plug in there are no terminals in side the slots. the other diagram shows a relay in the passenger side kick panel, but where? any info would help, thanks:confused: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
HowlerMonkey Posted December 1, 2009 Share Posted December 1, 2009 There were at least 3 fuel pump relay schemes in the 280zx over the years....and that's only on the non turbos. For the turbos, there were at least 2. One thing I remember on the early ZX is that a bad alternator or oil pressure switch can affect fuel pump operation because nissan used both of them to determine whether the engine was actually turning before it decided to run the fuel pump once the key was out of the start position.
