TomoHawk
Next winter project would be to see if you can use a manual shifter( like a 4-speed) to shift the automatic transmission on a stock 280Z. I chose a 4 speed shifter, tinking that reverse could be Park, neutral is neutral, and the 4 forward gears would be Reverse, Drive, 2nd and Low. If it works, I'd have to build a shifter box on top of the trans hump, which would look cool, Any ideas? Anobody got an old 4- or 5- speed shifter (the kind with control rods, not ball) they'd send me cheap? Maybe Vega or Pinto, volkswagon? Trevor
These Aren't cheap Shifter Photos But might give you some inspiation as you search for parts. Looks like a couple of Heim joints, plate steel, a shift lever, and a threaded rod.
TomoHawk
Thanks Trevorm B&M had one a few years ago, but didn't sell any. Called it "H-Gate Shifter". Maybe one of those shifters from Lokar will work.
