I have this old late 70's customizing book where the guy got a damaged Z bent it back to shape chopped the top ( that was wild!!! biggrin.gif) and add Jim Cook fender flares to already existing flares and a 911 front flare hand made pantera style dished back hatch, whale tail and a wild evil keneival paint job(you had to be in the 70's to appreciate that). later it mentioned a v8 to be installed. has anyone seen this datsun? more interesting has anyone chopped a Datsun?

I'm interested in seeing pictures of the car described here. Could you tell me the name and date of the '78 magazine? What is the title and who is the author of the customizing book? There are several good used magazine/book stores around here. Thanks.

Hey Jhaag

The book I am referencing from is called Creative Customizing ISBN 0-8227-5026-0 published by Petersen Publishing in 1978

The car was called the EVEL EAGLE a 240Z Created by Carl Green Enterprises for the Oakland Roadster Show done from wreck to show car in 30 days!

John, where did you find that series? I've got a couple of parts of that series bought new when it came out smile.gif but I'd really like to get them in better shape and have the whole series too!

TIA!

P.S. Which months had them? I seem to recall it wasn't in a straight run and skipped a month or two here and there...

I found the series of four magazines at a place called Car Books in Denver. He sells new and used books, magazines, posters, etc.

I don't have the phone number handy but I suspect he'd ship. There were duplicate copies of at least one of the magazines in the series. As I recall, several of the articles were only in black and white--I'd have to check when I get home. The Hot Rod's cost me $2 each.
