Guest Anonymous
Hey guys. Once again I need a little wisdom here. I've taken all the gaskets off the exterior of my Z in preparation for painting. I was wondering, is there an easy way to remove the rubber that's stuck to the metal? I've tried my sandblaster without good results.. namely I'm talking about the windshield gasket and the rear hatch gasket. Thanks! DavyZ
Aside from Permatex gasket remover, razor blades, and sandblasting, I'm not sure there is anything else? David
Guest Anonymous
Wow.. I didn't even know that they made gasket remover. Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out. It's funny how much stuff that I've bought and didn't even know about before I started this body work!
RPMS
I did this last week. I soaked the remaining foamy rubber bits in lacquer thinner, then used steel wool to remove what was left of the rubber/adhesive goo. I'm pretty sure that 3M or Permatex adhesive remover would be a better, easier choice, though. Good luck!
