Then I applied some cheap light gray spray paint primer to prevent rust.Before I take this car to get sprayed what steps should I take to make sure the paint bonds good and is smooth? Mike kZ Posted July 23, 2001 Share Posted July 23, 2001 Are you doing the body and paint yourself? If so you have a lot of priming and block sanding to do first. If your just taking it to someone to do everything, then just leave it the way it is now. They will take it back down to metal to start over.
