Stalling in first, tach goes up, dies, loud buzzing.

Recommended Posts

Hey guys.

So the problem is this..

While in first grear my 280z sometimes stalls recently.

It's as I have been going to work, so the car is pretty warmed up, it's a 5 mile drive to work. it's been doing it while i'm accelerating lightly (the time in first when you're letting off the clutch while pushing down the throttle).

Suddenly the car started to stall and then dies. while that's happening my rpm gage shoots up to around 3-4000 rpms even though my engine is dieing, though i noticed it dose rev up slightly before stalling. when it stop there is a loud buzzing noise.

it will start right back up though and run fine. i havent been having any unusual issues with starting, driving around, idling, or anything else though. I have checked over the engine and find no loose connections or anything unusual.

Ideas?

Also, it stalls at random speeds. Anywhere from less than 10 mph to 45mph.

I can still here the fuel pump running when the car dies/

Thanks guys.
