mikedunfee
Okay so I finally got the rear end figured out on this car, and put a battery in it and went to start it, but no go. I'm getting fuel but apparently no spark. Wondering if anyone out there has an msd ignition set up in there z car. I have a 6200 ignition box, and an 8360 spark timing control, msd distributor and a blaster 2 coil. The car has been sitting on jack stands for years, and ran before that. It seems kind of odd that the ignition box would just become inoperable. I tried the ignition spark test by removing the coil wire from the distributor, and the white wire and trying the whole touch to ground spark test but didn't get any spark. I'm getting my 12 volts from the red wire to the coil, I don't have another msd coil to test, I have an old bosch that I jumpered into but still no spark. Can anyone give me an idea
jt1
Check the wiring diagram to be sure it's wired up correctly, check all the connections, and make sure you've got a good ground. It's also a good idea to have a ground from the engine to the chassis. jt
mikedunfee
Thanks, I think I got it figured out, it has a magnetic pick up, yet the wire for the crank trigger was hooked up as if it didn't have a magnetic pick up. I got spark now
