Guest Fast Frog
400: My 76 V8Z with a sbc 383, alum hds, T5 tranny, elect fan, alum manifold, headers and dual exhaust, no bumpers, no spare tire or jack weighs right at 2650 lbs. Your ZV8 with sbc 400 and TH350 tranny with no bumpers, etc should weigh a similar amount within 25-50 lbs. As long as you're not doing any serious racing, you shouldn't have to worry about frame strengthening or roll cage. The only strenghtening that I did was to add a brace across the front strut towers. Guest Anonymous
It may be a bit more as Pontiac engines are heavy suckers. a stock V8 weighs in around 650 lbs. with the exception of the 301 which is considerably lighter (and less powerful).
