andy280zxt
So i have a 83 280zx and since i got the car i have always had problems with the ignition, sometimes when i turn the key i get nothing.. no clicks or anything. Other times i can get the engine to crank but it is very random. Both the keys i have are not originals, and i am wondering if this may be whats causing the issue or if there's something else i can do to fix this problem. The car is currently not running, and it makes it even more difficult to try and trouble shoot when half the time you can't even crank the engine. Any suggestions will be helpful, Thanks in advance, Andy

Have your budy hold the key in the crank position while the problem is occuring, and with a test light, you will quickly find the source of your problem. PS..Your KEY is NOT the problem.
