Guest ttoude
Did some searching and I found good info on swapping a 50amp alt to a 1977 z. http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/alternatorswap/index.html http://www.zcarcreations.com/howto/voltreg.htm But I couldn't find any info on Z's that have already been swapped to turbo, I've been 280 z turbo swapped for 8 months with 0 charging problems. The swap was complete also alt, motor, harness, diff, trans, relays the whole schpille, thx again N. HOWEVER my charge light has been on since it was NA in 2008. I've ignored it it for 2 years (bad idea) but again its NEVER been a problem. I currently have the 60 amp alt in it and the SOLID STATE external VR. Did a draw/load test 13.4/550cca alt/batt checked out. BUT dash ammeter is reading 16amps and the red light is on. (I am gonna try and find a known good VR later today)
