Guest Anonymous
I wondered if I could ask a favor. On the silver turbo car that was up for sale not long ago on the forsale section, it has the 80's ZX "turbo" hood vents installed. I bought a set of these, and want to put them on my 73 240, but I am not sure how, I hear they "stick up" off the hood unless you set them down some how. That one looks great...is there a trick to make it sit flat on the hood like that? Thanks! http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/skyline240z/lst?.dir=/eBay+photos/240Z+photos&.view=t
RPMS
The silver car in the pictures you link to doesn't appear to have had the vents frenched in. It looks like the vent is not really flush with the surface of the hood. I can't think of an easy way to make something like this sit flush. Anyone else have an idea? Guest greimann
The easiest way would be to get a ZX hood, cut out the area with the recesses and graft them into your 240 hood. That way the blending and smoothing is needed in a place where you don't have to match the scoops. A hand held pneumatic flanging tool would be very handy in making a seat in the old hood for the new cutouts.
