roschili
Hey guys, quick question. I'm putting a sbc v8 in my '79 280zx. While doing the engine markup earlier today, I realized that my zx's stock gearbox won't fit with the v8. This leads me to believe that I'm going to have to convert my steering to rack and pinon. Anybody else have this problem? What is the best solution/ what should I be looking to do as a replacement for my stock steering setup? kiwi303
Gearbox? You mean the recirculating ball stock assisted steering? I don't see a L series Gearbox fitting on a SBC... and you're talking steering? Assuming you mean the power steering box not the gear box... Just find a rack and pinion set from a later power steering model, or from a rack and pinion manual steering if you want to delete the PS pumps et al from the motor.
