KROz
I've been working on cleaning up this intake while there is snow on the ground and not much else to be done. Since I can't really find anyone around town who wants to sell me an N-42 intake, I've been working with what I have. Thanks to BRAAP for his awesome guide. BRAAPs L6 EFI-induction advice and tips. Here are some pictures of my progress... (I marked things so I wouldn't have to keep going back and forth from the computer all day) I goofed up here, and cut a bit too far into the heat shield mount.(at least that's what I think it was, its been a few weeks now.) I used a die grinder with a cut off wheel to remove the bulk of the ugly bits, and will grind the rest of the bulges off later. The EGR will be smoothed out and welded as well, obviously. I just need to get it cleaned out first, which I am unsure how to go about doing. I am having the hardest time getting the hex bolts from the EGR plenum, and don't know who I'm supposed to clean the inside for welding without removing them. Before I go any farther, I just wanted to have some input and be sure that I'm headed in the right direction with this, and hopefully help someone else trying to do this, as I have learned so much from this site, but contributed next to nothing. voong413
Hey i'm actually doing the same manifold right now, its a pain trying to remove all the extra bits. I ended up cutting off the egr plenum too, theres just a few small ports at the bottom to weld up. but i was just wondering wha tool were you gonna use to shave it off? I'll post pic of mine once i get a chance.
Challenger
Just leave it as is. Weld on a cap to the back of the manifold where you cut it and the smooth everything out. Cutting off the plenum will be alot of work and youll need to weld up the holes going into the runners which may leave bumps on the inside of the runner.... its gonna be tough. Or just wait longer to find a n42 non egr...
