Early Z brake master cylinder

Recommended Posts

I have a 71 240Z, produced in 11-70. The brake master cylinder has the brake ports opposite the newer model Z's. The front port is for the front brakes, the rear is for the rear brakes. Can I swap in a 72 & up master cylinder with the front port going to the rear brakes and the rear port going to the front brakes and swap the lines going to the master cylinder or will I run into trouble with the push rod depth between the master cylinders?

Thanks.

When my early style original M/C went bad on my '71 Z, I replaced it with the later style due to cost and availability. All that was required was to route the brake lines to the appropriate reservoir - which is opposite from the early style M/C. No other issues.
