  1. I would never waste my time with the SR20, its overrated, expensive and makes jack for power. A VG30ET is readily available for $100 in a junkyard and can support 450-500 BHP in bone stock form. Thats the way to go.....yet im ditchin the VG30 for a VH45de because 400rwhp is not enough on 18lbs of boost
  2. Depends on pricing. $850 - definate no. for $650 then most likely. For $500, you got 2 of them sold through me man...
  3. Stinky, What are you using for tuning? Did you pull the entire stock wiring harness, sensors, relays and ECU? Was that a pain and how was the wiring job? Also how about the Auto tranny? Will it run just fine without needing to read the auto tranny sensors? I mean is all that integrated into the ECU or is the tranny controlled entirely seperate fromt he engine ECU? I was probably going to save myself some time and build my own megasquirt harnesses and go that route from the start, build my own crank trigger setup and whatnot....I would like to get it running nice and smooth perfectly on stock tuning first but stock wiring is a nightmare. Oh and since your one of the ECU guys on our Z31 board, have you looked into how the Q45 ECU is setup and what its capabilities are? Romulator? Thanks man
  4. OK, i am most certainly in on the kit if we can get the price down lower if enough people are buying. I have some questions though. I have a Z31 and the shifter comes straight out of the tranny itself. I see that the Z32 tranny looks shorter and uses a linkage for the shifter. Ive never seen how the shifter rod itself is mounted so it can pivot and push on that rod to shift. I wonder how this is going to be a problem when dropping it in a S13 considering the shifter comes directly out of the tranny on these cars stock too? I am afraid that the shifter will not want to reach the shifter hole because the tranny is too short. True the 1" thick adaptor plate will help, but it looks too short. The 87-89T Z31 Trannies have the same internals as a Z32TT tranny i hear...I dont believe the bolt patterns for the Z31 and Z32 bell housings are the same though so i suppose i am stuck with the Z32TT tranny. I guess i need to just buy it all, bolt it together and drop it in and check how it all lines up....wish someone had some measurement differences in length between the Z32TT tranny and 240sx tranny from bellhousing to shifter itself....anyone? Oh and my buddy is planning on a similar project but going RX7 i believe, he is probably in on the deal when i am too. So count 2 more in, woohoo! Come on people, lets get 10 so the prices are a little cheaper
  5. Im in for sure if its not to expensive. What is EVERYTHING included in the kit? I might just pick up the adaptor plate only from you and fab my own flywheel spacer if its not that big a deal.
  6. Its been a while since this thread has been brought up. Just wondering if anyone is selling the adaptor plate and flywheel spacer for the Z32TT Tranny to the VH45DE? Im doing this setup in a S13. Already sourced the engine complete for $200 woot woot!! Not sure if im going with stock harness and ecu yet, or if i will fab a new harness and run megasquirt or something.... anyways who sells the adaptor plates or bell housings?
  7. Yes please post links as i have been trying to dig up info for a while on any V8 swaps into 240's. Thanks
  8. I posted earlier in the "other engines" section about using a 1UZFE 4.0 V8 Toyota engine from a Lexus. I already have acquired one from a junkyard for only $150 complete. The only problem is it needs a custom bell housing and flywheel to adapt a R154 tranny or other transmission to the engine as the 1UZFE only came in auto's from the factory. Not only that but the engine in stock form is only good for about 500-550rwhp. I am considering the 5.0 instead and selling the 1UZFE. The 5.0 motors are readily available at my local u pull it yards for $150 or less, and the aftermarket support is HUGE and cheap. I am shooting for about 600-650rwhp out of this next project. My current ongoing project is my Z31 running SDS and a Holset putting out upwards of 450-500rwhp, i should be breaking into the 11's this year at 6K elevation. My questions for this project are: Has anyone done the swap yet, 5.0 into a S13 240sx? Should i be worried about the chassis being weak and possibly "twisting"? What power can a BONE stock block take tuned good with boost? What kind of transmission will take this power besides an expensive *** T56? Is the output shaft on the tranny the same on the T56 as it is on the T5? I will be doing the classic flip the manifolds and twin turboing it with 2 GN turbos or HY35's, or possibly making a crossover and one huge turbo like a Holset HX50. Another option is to remote turbo it, or remote twin turbo it.... Megasquirt will be the fuel control, i have spent alot of time with it on my buddies car and love the system. Any suggestions or insight is appreciated, thanks
  9. Anyone had experience running the 1UZFE, specifically boosted? I am going to be picking up an entire drivetrain and will be going megasquirt. Not sure what i am dropping it in, would like a Z31 or S13 but think it might be easier and will have more room in an older 240Z. I currently have an HX40 powered Z31, putting down over 400rwhp, i want to step it up a notch with a new project and start off with this 4.0 V8. check out www.1uzfe.com for more info on these motors, they are extremely well built and very strong! Shooting for around 650-700rwhp on a stock block boosted.
  10. Hey all, its my first post. Im coming from Z31.com. Ive researched for a few hours and cannot find much information on this swap although i know its been done before. I have a 88 300zx turbo with SDS, T70 to come, and many more mods, its a heavy ass car however still is VERY fast. I am going to use a spare 300zx VG30ET motor i have, well its a N/A motor out of a maxima, same exact thing. Stock bottom ends will take 450hp all day long. Im shooting for about 350hp from this one. Dont need any info on the engines, i have enough parts to put together 3 of these engines, know too much about them already and know their capabilities. Any links to people that have done the swap? Thanks for your time John
