  1. My 240's got a ding like that except its right on the front right corner of the hood. We've been pounding it back up from the inside, then we sanded it. We're putting a skim coat of bondo on it to make it all smooth, then we're gonna paint over it. It's not really that difficult. It's not like you're gonna hurt anything by trying. If all fails, just try to find another hood.
  2. Well, I guess this will be the first weatherstripping question of the year. I searched and didn't find too much. What I do know is that some people have problems with the Precision kits. How are the Black Dragon kits? Also, is there a complete comprehensive kit I can get that has everything? I need the tail light seals as well as all the glass seals, hood seal, door seals, etc. Thanks in advance.
  3. That's cool. I'll probably just spray it flat black for right now. When I go back in a couple months and do a full restoration I'll probably get some of that from him. At the moment I'm just trying to get it on the road and stop any rust. Thanks.
  4. What color were these originally on the 240z's?
  5. I'm going to post pictures and updates in here as I get things done. Took this picture before I took her home. It was pretty crowded in there. Took these while she was on the Uhaul dolley. Pictures of her in the new workspace. Couple of the motor/interior. Overall, the car is very rust free and the interior is immaculate. She had been sitting in a garage for the last 15 years. There are a few small dents and dings, but nothing like what I've seen on any of the other cars I've looked at. Should be a fun project. I hope to have her on the road some time in April, for my 18th birthday.
  6. I looked through the picture section and couldn't find them . Could you link me?
  7. I'm still looking for a Z if anyone has one. I'm getting a caprice with an LT1 and i'll probably do a v8 swap, so the motor and trans doesn't matter anymore. The only thing that matters now is the car having very little rust.
  8. So you're the one who chose my username before me . If you can, try to get some pictures of that sunroof for us.
  9. It looks like alot of the paint/undercoat is peeling and cracking off though, dont really know whats under all that. Anyways, im off to look at a 280z locally tomorrow morning, hopefully before the full brunt of the hurricane hits.
  10. That's what i though too, til i saw some of these: I hardly believed my eyes when i saw all that rust. Maybe it's not a bad as i think, but it's just way too much work for me. EDIT : You can cancel a bid through ebay, but you have to give a legitimate reason. If you look, you can see that another person canceled their bid as well.
  11. This may be the wrong section, but i find it interesting. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-240-Z-1970-Datsun-240-Z-Rallye-Car-In-Line-6-cylinder-Manual_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6187QQitemZ140263831482QQrdZ1 This car looks very good on the outside, in fact, i had bid $2000+ on it. I had him send me some underbody pictures, and it took me less than 10 minutes to cancel my bids. The car looks pretty good on the outside, but the underside is rot. The person who wins this car, and pays to have it shipped/picks it up, will be be pissed when they take a close look to it. I can post the pictures if anyone's interested. Figured i'd put this here in case anyones looked at it, and doesn't know what they're getting into. Also, theres a ton of little non-factory wires running around, you can see some of them in the pictures on the listing. I do really like the body kit on it though, and the tail lights are pretty cool. What fender flairs, spoiler, and air dam is that? Also, a place to buy them would be GREAT. Thanks.
  12. Sorry, but the camaro's gone now. Sold it yesterday.
  13. I dont really want to spend any more than $2000 right now.
  14. I'm looking for a running s30, preferably road worthy or almost road worthy. I'd like to be able to drive it to and from school. Just want it to have minimal rust and it to run. I have about $2000, could maybe trade a rust free 1970 Camaro roller, if the 2 people interested in it back out. Also, if the price is right, i'll consider one that doesn't run. I'm located in Cleburne Texas.
