  1. Yeah I called a Nissan dismantler and he said most of the parts are interchangeable, but I'm not sure if he actually knows what he's talking about. I'm waiting on some of my cousin's friends that are nissan techs and they've learned all about the NATS. So we'll see what happens. I'm still trying to see if the engine is still good because it's been sitting in my brother in laws garage for almost 2 years. Need to do a compression test, if I can because the engine is out of the car.
  2. Ok so I guess no one knows... So my new question is...Will an engine harness, body harness, key ignition w/ key, gas pedal, dash harness, and everything connected to it from any year donor 350Z plug up and work on correctly on a '05 350z engine? All parts from one donor car. I inspected my engine wire harness and a few plugs were clipped off and a few split wires. So I'm missing them so I thought I might as well just buy a new used engine harness. Please someone let me know if this will work, so I can begin the swap or not. Thanks...
  3. Ok so I'm trying to figure out if the body harness, key ignition w/ key, gas pedal, dash harness, and everything connected to it Will it plug right up to an engine and harness from a different donor 350Z? I have a VQ35de engine and engine harness and missing everything else. If I get the rest of the stuff from a different donor car (the same car), will it plug right and and run correctly without having to take it to get it reprogrammed at Nissan cause I don't know anyone there? I want to run the stock electronics. Pretty much do a complete changeover minus AC/PS. I really want to do this swap, but this is the only thing holding me back from doing it. I don't want to buy all the stuff and it won't work. What I think is that the engine and engine harness shouldn't matter because the engine harness is just connecting the engine to the ecu. Also the sensors on the engine should be the same as every other VQ35de engine because if that sensor goes out then you just replace it, right? Please correct me if I'm wrong. I say this because civics and integras are like that because the engine harnesses are interchangeable if your swapping a v-tec motor with a v-tec motor as long as it's obd1 or obd2 then it should plug right up and work. I do these swaps all the time for people and they pass reff with an ease.
  4. Have you checked out Austin's page on his VQ swap? He removes the hood latch and uses hood pins. The motor sits way back and looks great. That's what I want to do, but I'm a little confused how the fuel runs through the fuel rails. I drew up a diagram, to see if it's how he did but I'm just waiting to see what he says. But I think the Mckinnley mounts look pretty decent and will probably work out nice. I'm probably going to pick up a set when I start my swap.
  5. Oh ok thanks. I will check it out.
  6. sorry to steal your thread, but I'm also wanting to swap in my VQ. I thought it would be smarter to just jump in your thread. But That's cool that you are from stockon because I'm from Fresno. I pretty much started with what you have. All I have is just the complete engine with tranny and engine harness. The only thing holding me back from continuing on with the swap is not having the other harnesses and computers and can't find a donor car. I'm stuck as to where to find the other stuff. I really just want to run it stock with all stock wires. Do you think you can give me the number to that nissan dismantler? Will it have any issues starting/running if you used the engine harness from your motor and then using the dash, body harness, etc. from the other donor car? I'm thinking it shouldn't because it's just wires and there aren't any sensors connected to it. It's just connects the sensors to the ecu. So pretty much if I purchased what Robbie is buying from a donor car, the car will start up and run fine?
  7. Alright cool thanks for the tips and help. Im using my mobile phone righ now so havent had time to put my location. Im from fresno, ca though. I was asking cause this exhaust shop said bigger isnt better, but I didnt agree with him. Thanks again
  8. Ok so I hav a 73z with a l28et swap and I want to redo the exhaust because the previous owner did a bad weld and cut different pipe sizes and welded the together amd also didnt weld some parts so Theres major exhaust leak. I just purchased a HKS hi-power turbo exhaust with 3inch inlet. The car is only going to be daily driven. Its all stock and is going to be for a while. So which exhaust size would be best? 2.5, 2.75, or 3 inch piping? Im hoping to do the piping in two days so i would appreciate the help as soon as possible. Thanks
  9. Nice car. I was thinking about purchasing this car 2 weeks ago, but then I came across a 73 240z l28et. I just bought it 3 days ago in Sac for what I think is a great deal. I bought it for 2,500. It's also my first 240z and I love it.
  10. I was wondering what parts are needed to install the 300zx turbo r200 into a 72z? How much it will cost? Can i just get the complete rear end off the 30zx and swap it with the 72z? If anyone can help id really appreciate it. Thanks
  11. I a newbie one here and im sure this has been asked before, but ive been searching all over and didnt find what i was really looking for. I have a 350z motor and i want to swap it into my 240z. Possible or not? If yes, what is needed to perform this project and the cost? Major fab? If anyone can help i would really appreciate it. Pretty much need like a step by step thing. Thanks in advance
