Nice read. Long, but still pretty entertaining. Looks like you have your hands full. It should be fun, good luck!

I just enabled your account, thanks for joining.
Pete
Thanks Pete. I posted a wanted ad and have been getting all sorts of help so far! Definitely a great community and can't wait to own a Z.

Hey I registered on the forum a couple days ago and it won't let me post or anything. I get this message saying my acct needs to get validated. Any help?
-
That's genius and I want one. In fact, I wouldn't mind having the one that blue72 has. That thing looks badass.
I lol'd when the robot tried to do donuts in the vid.

That's pretty hideous. Poor Teg...

I know there's a huge club in CT but that's about it. I've posted on here asking about that but found noone.
Looks like its just you and me homie.
haha
Haha yea dude I've heard of CTZCC but that's about it. And yeah that's what it seems like lol if/when I get my Z I'd be down for some Summer cruising around Beantown.

Hey man. All I can say is good luck. I literally looked so much for so long that I gave up! Then by chance stumbled back in for a quick peek on craigslist and there she was.
I got so lucky that I couldn't really give you much good advice. I was going to ship a 75+ 280z from the west coast since a lot of them have a hard time passing smog and are cheap. You can get one shipped to RI from CA for under $1k, and you can find nice 280zs for around $1800. That puts you lower than what I paid for this one local.
But to answer your question I picked it up from a real Z enthusiast in Quincy, MA. The guy was a real wealth of knowledge and really hooked me up.
Best of luck in your search. When you find the right one you will just know.
As for the Priming I am starting to agree. I will properly treat all of the spots that are left and get a better primer. Can't be effing around with the climates around here being the way they are.
Hey man thanks for the advice. I haven't been looking for too long (about 4 months) so I guess it would be best to remain patient.
Sidenote, do you know of any Z clubs/meets in the Boston/RI area? I'd love to meet/cruise with other Zs when I get mine.

justin, i don't know if you received pm i sent to you about a '78 280 z for sale at rooney motors in pawling, ny, which is on the ct. border.i drove by there today and it is still there.it is a 5 speed with nice wheels and tires and front air dam and rear spoiler. body looks clean and it is medium blue.i think he wants in the 5000 range for it.his name is tim and the number is 845-855-0020.tell him mike told you about car. good luck!
Mike, thanks for the heads up. I'll give him a call this afternoon and let him know you told me about it. I appreciate it!

I agree with the others and vote for correctly spot priming the car to at least keep the rust minimal and stop spreading.
I had a question for you OP, I noticed you were from Beantown. I'm from RI and can't find a solid 240 anywhere near here lol. Any suggestions? Where did you pick yours up if you don't mind me asking.

I have a 1973 240z Orange. NO RUST. Its a cali car. Have copy of title to prove too.
Has Chevy V8 inside with T5 5 Speed transmission. Seats need to be redone. If you are interested pm me. I am in ny.
PM'd. Bump, still looking

This spoiler definitely looks good. Bump for more updates/pics.

Still looking... I'd be willing to travel to parts of CT and MA.

Here is a pic of my z last summer
Looks good. Is that your MKIV also?

I just read thru this entire thread. Good to hear that no one was injured.
Good luck with the recovery, looks like it's on it way

As the title states, I'm looking for a nice and clean S30. Preferably a 240 but a 260/280 would suffice. Needs to be manual and must be clean/rust free. I'm located about 30 minutes from Boston. Someone help me get my Z! Thanks!
Anyone?

Update after ZG flares and Rotas:

Both cars are nice. Do you mind sharing the specs/offset on the Rotas?

Thanks Empire.
That makes a huge difference, it looks so much better. That's such an awesome color too.

Sick car man, I've been into Subies for a while and had plans on purchasing a WRX for sometime but it didn't work out for me at the time. I did a great deal of research and reading for a couple years only to not get my WRX. But I can vouch for this car, it is definitely a well done STi. I think I may have seen it on Nasioc even. Glws man and good luck on getting your Z.

I am. I think your best bet is to simply ship a car from the west coast.
True. That, or I guess I cold wait around until I find a nice resto'd one that matches my budget. If you don't mind me asking, how did you personally acquire your Z being from Jersey?
-
Awesome Z's guys. Anyone here from New England? I've been looking for a Z for a little while and am finding it to be quite impossible.
Post your favorite Z other than your own.

This is such an awesome picture. Is there a full-size version?
Amazing thread btw.
