Well im stuck at 1jz and rb25det,keep in mind ill do most the fab work myself.Now i asked the rb guys they told me it takes about 5k wise to get a rb25det running in a 240z is it cheaper to get the 1jz running? Not trying to be cheap just trying to figure out how much money im lookin at money wise

Okay hello everyone my name is jose,I have a 73 spent the last year building suspention etc,I have a l24 but im tired of the old gal.So before i start to ramble here is my question.Does anyone have a 1jz swap in the socal area wanna see what you did just curious what exactly was done,Ive been reading on the swap but wanted to hear some first hand knowledge.Being my first swap wanted to do it myself so give me a holler thanks

I really wanna upgrade my engine but being a student founds is a issue but time isnt.So i would love to put it in myself really get that engine In myself i really wanna spend around 3k for a nice engine

Never even thought of the ka24det as swap but seems cheap well not cheap but cheaper than the rb25 any post on the ka series ?

well,Where im at right now is i have a p90 head and f54 block in a okay condition,both will have to be rebuilt but im im missing most of the plumbing the budget isnt to bad i plan to do everything myself,Some things i will have to buy i know but i can afford those but lets say 2 to 3k budget

Okay well ive had my 240z for about a year finished most of the work I wanted.Replaced/Upgraded most of the suspention now I'm thinking about getting rid of the old l24.Now ive been thinking about which engine to swap,l28et,rb25det,Sr20det really wanna go turbo never had one before.Now I only want about 250ish at the wheels for my car I hear thats cake for a l28et.Now since Im not in any rush to do the swap.Now anyone out there have a engine at 250ish how does it run,what did you have to do,How bad is the swap into the 240z.How much did yu have to spend. I know most of the these have been answered but looking for more first hand knowledge then anything any help will be grateful......Sorry for my typing using a smart phone so hard to edit

check every hose,every gasket,carb spray nothing.Am starting to think maybe my manifold is cracked somewhere,It really sounds horrible.Am out of ideas

Okay sorry well it has flat top carbs,ive been spraying with carb cleaner and the idle doesnt seem to change from the car.Ive used a good amount on the engine on each hose and nothing seems to be happening its a loud leak to so im not sure what it could be help please

The noise gets louder as i give it some gas,Havent had a chance to test with the leak yet non stop rain!!

This morning I turned on my car and i heard a loud noise like air escaping,So i thought it was my intake manifold gasket replaced it,Same noise.Thought it could have been a loose hose or vacuum but there all attached,all new really dont know what eles to check,replaced the gasket at the end of the headers,could my intake manifold be cracked.It doesnt get louder as i give it gas its pretty consistent if i give it gas or not any ideas help please

Yea see thats what i wanted to hear i have a shop at my disposable with any tool I could need,So i thought a lot of the things i could do,Fab and what not but idk anymore?

Gonna try to find a good rb20det i would like a rb25det but lack of funds haha so any of you guys down to meet?

Well i have done all the susmpetion work,struts,springs,sway bars,strut bars,quicker steering knuckles,new brakes,lines pads,calipers,drums,so i figure the next upgrade would be the engine wouldnt it?

Okay I'm thinking of installing a rb25det into my 240z,I currently have about 2500 to 3k to spend if i was to do all the work myself could it be done for less than 3k.I found a good engine for about 1500 complete and i figure maybe another 1k in things I will have to buy to get the car running or am i cutting it close.What have you guys spent on your engines getting them In.Am a student and it took me a while to save the 2500 but i want the rb in my car any help will be awesome thanks

Im socal and cant seem to find any l28s.SO im looking for a l28 socal f54,p79 head it what i would like but open to offers need a complete engine wanna drop into my 240z thanks

Okay well i have a 240z and am thinking of doing the swap but am still not sure.Is there anyone who has a 240z with a rb engine its not the money more of how they handle/sound i kinda wanna hear first hand experience.I have looked on youtube but those videos really do rb engines justice so if anyone doesnt mine me looking under there hood and hearing there car i would appreciate it much thanks.So cal here la/oc/ie thanks

Well ive been reading about this guy a lot and it seems like it built his car with a budget which i like.The only problem is i cant seem to find out what exactly he has done to his engine im really interested in what he did to make his stock l28 with su's.Anyone know have a link or maybe could tell me much thanks everyone

Okay i recently bought a 240z a 72 running like a champ for 1k really good condition got lucky i love the car but am thinking of building a better engine i wanna boost but i dont think the l24 is the right engine to do that so i was considering buying a l28 i know the sr rb and 350 are more of a common swap but i wanna keep it old school so i wanna buy and build a l28 but i dont know where to get started what to look for am new so anyone suggetions point me in the right direction ?
