  1. Hey, I got the air horn thing going on in my plenum
  2. Burns is expensive. Try one of these 3 places. I believe Kooks or stainless works will be the least expensive. Specialty Products Design(good for 321 SS bends) http://www.spdexhaust.com/ Kooks Custom Headers http://www.kookscustomheaders.com/ Stainless Works http://www.stainlessworks.net/
  3. Bernardd, when I first modded my valve body it slipped badly on the 1-2 shift. Although I followed the instructions exactly I had this problem. My tranny guy suggested I swap valve bodies for a fresh one and try again. This fixed the problem and my car has been 11.16, 11.15 and 11.24. It has to be the valve body as my 2-3 shift is rock solid and the hardest hitting shift.
  4. Tell your buddy I have modifications for the valve body that he can perform himself to help eliminate his problems. I have been 11.2@130 and 11.1@126 with the Jatco tranny. Although I had a problem last go round, it was from a bent tab on the 2nd gear band. The tranny is easily good for 10's with valve body mods and stock OEM clutches. BTW, the 11.2@130 and 11.1@126 were both with a 1.9 60ft so you can see it holds some good power.
  5. running balls rich with slipping tranny 60ft - 1.932 330' - 4.872 1/8th - 7.229 MPH - 102.08
  6. That is my next project, a phenolic spacer between the intake and head.
  7. the inconel is actually a .004" sheet that is stamped into a waffle pattern. A layer of high temp fiber glass is then applied and another layer of .004" inconel sheet. Basically, you have a high temp fiber glass sandwhiched between two layers of .004" stamped inconel sheet. This creates a 3000F heat barrier. It is not just a metal shield.
  8. I had the company Advanced Thermal Protection build me a custom intake manifold heat blanket. Check out their website, it is amazing the work they do. http://www.atpwrap.com These guys are awesome and the turnaround time was 3days. The heat on the intake manifold kills power on our turbo cars as the exhaust manifold sits directly below the intake. I will have the final pics later today to post. Here are the ones I currently have. The shields are inconel that cover the runners and fuel rail.
  9. You know SSS510 I am going to beat your time in 2 weeks. 10.7@133 is the prediction. The car is tuned now on the nitrous and the tranny fixed.
  10. Sorry for the late response, but I could not find my HP calculator until now. Equation is as follows and is 2nd order. Time(seconds)=.93455 + .01416(x) - .0000067(x^2) where x=feet So, plug in 492 feet and you get 6.279 seconds.
  11. It is called a Spoolie Jobbie! TimZ and I designed it, Tim paid for it, I built it and Tim had it heat coated. The bushings, stem and flapper are all made from Hastoloy X. In this neck of the woods I am considered a high-tech redneck! My stuff is trick like Tim's, but Tim's stuff is trick and clean. He has the bling bling to match the 'city of lights' powdercoated valve cover. I feel like disco dancing everytime he opens his hood!
  12. He said to call him on this Thursday to check progress. As of Friday he had not yet started.
  13. Nice job Kyle, looking very good thus far. Is that a 4-1 merge collector on your V6 engine?
  14. Me 11.265 Scottie 11.289 He redlighted so he got the light. BTW, I'm gonna whip him in Reynolds next month!
  15. Open wastegate on the dragrace moview, but the burnout was with my single T64 turbo w/out open wastegate. BTW, the car has an automatic tranny in it for all the movies. http://www.eng.fsu.edu/~jthagard/mpg/movies.htm
  16. Please don't hurt me master....I was confused...I shall repent...long live the V8!
  17. Update: The head is with the machinist who agreed to develope one intake/exhaust port on the chopped up head at a very good price. He will use epoxy instead of welding because it is just prototyping work. The price was good because he appreciated the head being chopped in all directions to take the guess work out of porting. He had many heads to show me at his shop and how modifying the chambers directly influences port flow and swirl. Interesting stuff to say the least. One of the mods he will be doing is to angle the spark plug towards the exhaust valve. I was shown a Busch series head and they only flowed in the 380+cfm range on the intake ports! I also checked out some top fuel heads...no wonder they flow so well! Heads with dual plug'd hemispherical chambers and much more. Anyway, he has a SuperFlow 600 with velocity probe and swirl meter. I should know something within 2 weeks time. Will keep you posted!
  18. What if I turbocharge the original L24 motor in a 240Z? Where do you want me to post? This reminds me of when the NEW Coke came out...where is the Coca Cola Classic?
  19. What gives with deleting the L6 forums? I saw this posted by Mike Kelly, "and even opened our arms up to the L6 crowd, Many of whom were attackers on other boards." Am I the only one confused here? Thanks for the open arms! I was not aware that hybrid refered to engines or any thing other than Nissan L6. Can hybrid not be a car with an L6, but with a ford 9" rear or powerglide tranny? If you don't like someone then kick them off, what is accomplished by killing the entire L6 section of this forum? I think the only thing you have managed to do it upset those who can contribute and still run the "NON-HYBRID" L6. I must say I am truly disappointed. Well L6 guys, it seems this is turning into another Zcar.com. BTW, will I get kicked off for speaking my mind?
  20. do a 2nd order regression equation to figure this out. I will do it later and give you the equation based on your past times.
  21. Undo the oil pressure sending unit. Undo the igntion so the car won't start. Turn the motor over for 5-7s at a time. If oil comes out, the pump is pumping. Also, as Pops said....mechanical is best!
