  1. After the third try, I finally found someone at Courtesy (Steve) who knew what I was looking for. He said they are no longer in the parts book, but he can get them. Apparently you need to know the secret handshake. I don't recall the price, but I don't think they were very expensive. When I get them, I will let you know if they are the right ones.

Jon, You should consider keeping your extra set. If you pull your stub axles occasionally to check or repack bearings the nuts should be repalced at some point. I think the FSM says to use new nuts every time.

  2. I need to get my hands on some of the 280ZX stub axle self locking nuts. I ordered some from Courtesy Nissan and they sent me the ones you have to stake to the axle. I called them and they told me this is all they have available. The part # for the staked nut is 43262-21000. It said this # supercedes 43262-21050. I need the part # for the self locking ones, or can someone tell me where I can buy them. I am not necessarily in love with stock Nissan parts. I only need something that will work as well.

    Thanks

  3. As you know' date=' anything above E14 will require that fuel system mods be made. You would need to have things like nickel plated fuel lines, specal injectors, hose, etc., to resist the corrosice properties of ethanol, espealy at E85. Look at places like Brazil that use ethanol.

Of course, E100 has something like 113 octane, so E85 will be very high as well.[/quote']

This is correct from my research. I checked with engine builders and carb people and E85 will require the same fuel system components as any other alcohol. We have an ethenol plant here and they verified the corrosive nature of the fuel.

E85 is 104 octane. and fuel mileaage will be about half. Get a bigger fuel tank.

  4. If you really need them

ARP kit is 203-2801 (8 Toyota bolts)

I needed them for my setup. The heads are too tall on the stock bolts for my setup and it needs the short 12 point heads on the ARP bolts.

Are the ARP bolts long enough? I measured my old ones and they measured 1 1/16" (27mm) long and the ARP website say theirs are 1" (25mm) long.

  5. I am running a 4" X 12" Supertrapp on my 240Z with 6X1 headers and a 2.5" exhaust. I run 6 discs when I sneak to the track (pretty loud). At the track I have been experimenting with anywhere 8 discs to baffle only with 0 discs. The ability to tune these is what makes them so great. I have one on my big inch Harley, and was able to tune a great torque curve just by adjusting discs.
