  1. Nullbound the lip I can't roll with the side skirts and rear skirt on it but thanks for the suggestion.
  2. Thanks Jon there are so many searches but this one has good info.
  3. I don't know I'm not at my car right now it is in the shop but today I ordered some new control arm bushings and some new link kits. So I will see if that does the trick.
  4. Sorry 1978 280z 15 Inch Weld Whells 235/60/15
  5. It seems my rearend is shifting forward is this caused by bad bushings in the control arms? My tires are way too close to my fender and scrubbing the lip of the fender not so bad before but I just had the springs and struts changed (Illuminas and lowering springs) and now they are catching the lip. Oh and the driver side is worse than the pass side. Help
  6. UPDATE: I have since got all of the wiring done and everything seems to be working fine except the speedo and tach. Trans went out the friday before the reynolds meet and is now in the shop. Again a BIG Thanks goes out to all who posted helpful tips in this post. Thanks again guy's.
  7. Transmisson went kaapoww. What kind of parts do you guy's use in the 700r4 I had mind built about a month ago with corvette parts but it could not hold up to the torque I have and he said he would build me another but this one was mine. He suggest putting a t350 but then I would not have overdrive. Any ideas???
  8. UPDATE--- Put the spacers under the crossmember (don't know if that is going to cause bumpsteer or not) the jtr book say's these provide clearance between the steering rack and the harmonic balancer not true on the 78 where the steering rack is mounted to the cross member it drops the whole thing. Then made some spacers to go under the motor mounts to lift the engine back up. Put the harmonic balancer on that come with the kit and fired it up NO VIBRATION man does that make me happy just drop the radiator a little to keep it from hitting the hood and adjusting the trans cable and that should be it for the moment at least I will be able to drive it.
  9. My car is not lowered yet so bumpsteer is not an issue. I am going to use spacers under the frame rails where the cross member mounts to the frame and add some spacers to the motor mounts to raise the motor back up I then should have enough space between my rack and balancer that I can use the one that come with the kit. Will update soon....
  10. What if I use the spacers under the frame rails and put some spacers under the motor mount brackets will that work.
  11. In progress of doing that right now should know tomorrow thanks for the sugestion will update as I know something. I have the spacers that are in the jtr book for putting under the front cross member and the body rails but on the 78 280z the rack is bolted to the top of the cross member along with the motor mounts so I don't see how it will lower the rack without lowering the engine too.
  12. Still haven't found what I am looking for so I will try to modify the stock one.
  13. RPMS--- I don't see where you will have the same problem I am having if it is just a stock 350 call jegs and let them know what you have and what you bought and they should be able to help you.
  14. Ok called the machine shop and he said they could not balance one to the other so I will try to install the one that come with the kit. I will have to lower my rack but I was looking at that and it looks like it will drop the rack and mounts together because the rack is mounted to the cross member I have the spacers that go under the frame as per jtr but just don't see how they will work yet.
  15. Thanks for you advice grumpyvette and others I will take them both to the machine shop monday.
