Hi guys, I just got a 280zx and put a battery in it and turned the key and nothing happened. So I figured the battery was dead, I put a new battery in, same thing, so I put the new battery on a charger, same thing.
There is no power to anything, no headlights, no dash lights, no hazard lights, no horn, nothing. So I checked all the fuses and they look good, checked the wiring from the battery and it looks good, but I found some wires right next to the battery that are cut. I'm not sure where they are supposed to go, or even if this is the problem? But it seems like the power from the battery isn't getting to the car. Anyone able to help? Thanks -

Hey guys, searched for tail light swaps, there is a ton of info but nothing that pertains to this simple question.
Can you swap the 83 taillights for the 80 taillights? Will the older tail lights bolt in or are modifications required?

Ok so i tried the clutch on and it fits but the l28 pressure plate is too big. Just like the internet told me it would be. So now i am selling my l28 stuff and the sr20 guys want to know the the clutch pressure plate will fit on their motors. l28 and sr20 are both 240mm and 24 spline. Anyone know if it will work?

Will a 280zx clutch work in a ka24de?
I have an aftermarket 280 clutch sitting here and a ka24 so i want to put them together.

From my understanding, it "will" bolt up, but the distance for the clutch assembly won't be right.
That doesn't sound good.

So i could take any bellhousing from 70-83 and it would bolt up to the l28 and a KA tranny? That sounds too easy to me.

What did you do for connecting the guage cluster?

so yes you use a 4 speed front case, you can use the front case from any L series tranny save fro the early series with the removable bellhousing and the t-5 which also has a removable bellhousing
So which years of Z bellhousings will bolt up to an l28et?

Alright, I get that. Now the only stuff I need to know is, is the input shaft a 240sx unit? And do I use a 240sx clutch or a 280zx clutch?
Sorry if these are dumb questions. I just need to know exactly what parts to buy before I buy them.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I was needing some specifics.
For this swap, do you use the KA input shaft with only the bearing coming from the l28? Or do you use the l28 input shaft and the bearing on the KA tranny? Also, I see 2 bearings in the pic, are they both l28 bearings or only the smaller bearing is l28?

Oh, haha my bad. My motor is missing the turbo so i am just looking for a replacement. Would an Rb20 turbo fit?

Hey, I searched for this but i couldn't find what i was looking for. Will a t25 turbo bolt up to an l28et? or would it need an adapter.

So you used the 280zx ecu and harness? Did you splice the wires from the ka tranny into the engine harness and how did you wire in the dash harness? And how did you fix the sway bar problem?

I looked at a wiring diagram and it looks like they cut the fusible links out.
Yeah it was a parts car that I'm rebuilding.
