Hey Guys, Just picked up a cam off ebay and i was wondering if someone can help me confirm that it is what it's supposed to be. It has Japan cast in the side and is a solid cam opposed to an internally oiled one. On the end of the cam the following is stammped: 23196 AmeriCam 1 11 A I googled it all and didnt come up with anything - not even anything for AmeriCam. Thanks in advance Jake

Turns out this is a normal datsun points dizzy with a Crane XR700 optical sensor in it. Bought this dizzy out of an MQ Patrol (aussie 4x4 L28 carby with points) at the wreckers thinking it would be as easy to hook up to a 240Z as a 280ZX one. It doesnt look like it has an ignition module on it (oops) but maybe you dont need one being an optical sensor to just fire the coil. It also has 3 wires coming out of it. If this cant be made to work can it be used as a trigger for an MSD 6-A or similer? I should add that the optical gear inside has hitachi logos and the ID on the body is for a 280C or MQ Patrol. If i get an MSD i still need to get the distributor re-curved for better advance right? Cheers Jake
