  1. Yeah.

But now what did he run for coilovers?

Just seems like you can't do one without having all sorts of work to do the other. (Plus just seems like you would have a mis matched set of coilovers, whereas the other guy had a full set of s13 coilovers).

I was liking what Mack has done here

    any input on this?

  2. I'm about to buy a 82 ZX parts car. If you want it, it's yours. I'll figure out some shipping and that's all you would owe.

I'll have to get the car first though. I'll let you know, if your interested.

    Thanks,

    Lindsey

  3. I am located in North GA.

I got a quote from a guy of 8-10k for my 1982 280zx and it has some surface rust on the drivers side panels, a couple of dents and a few scratchs.

This includes stripping the car down to metal, body work, priming, and painting (two tone, black and silver).

What do you guys think? Reasonable, or too high?

    Thanks.

  4. Hi, I have been working on a 1983 280ZX Turbo GL Model and have been removing all the optional components and associated wiring, tracing the wiring back to various splices and connectors, or even the fuse block. These include such items as rear defog/wiper, power antenna, voice warning system, cruise control (ASCD), all interior lamps and chimes. Now I am led to believe I will have serious problems due to the interconnectivity between this wiring and the necessary circuits for the engine etc. But from what I've seen in unraveling the rat's nest of wires, the components are all wired in parallel to the essential functions, not in serial. Please let me know if I have made a grave error in my approach. By the way, the car doesn't run right now due to separate problems with the ignition circuit. Thanks.

Where in Atlanta do you live? I would like to come by and take a look at your work, and talk Z's one weekend.

  5. I'm with this guy. Why would you not be able to do something like this, or even just weld in an extra 1.25" into the control arm to extend the arm to accept the geometry of the 240sx spindles?

OR if MACK could just share some knowledge we can all do this. LOL.

    Thanks.

Bringing this old thread back to life again since the guys over at the S130 suspension tech started to talk more about the 280zx suspension upgrades.

    Any input would be great.

    Thanks

  6. why not just machine out the stock control arms, and get a howe screw in lower ball joint sleeve, weld it to the stock control arm on both side, then just ream out the s13 spindle to accept the howe ball joint? (I'm also in process of doing a s13 spindle swap on my s30)

  7. Bringing back up a post worth talking about.

Mack, did you ever write down any kind of measurements other than the 1.25". How thick is the piece of aluminum? Did you shave most of it to fit within the original control arm and leave the rest of the thickness of the aluminum on the outside of the control arm? Also, what is the deal with the tension rod? Is it effected by the bracket?Just wondering. Trying to make a set for my car. Brilliant idea by the way.

    Thanks, again.
