  1. Thought i would update this. I got it running this week and tonight I will try to tune it a little. I still need to put in my 370cc injectors but I thought i would play around with the SAFC. I will try to get some video soon.

  2. I did think about making new manifolds, but I didn't want to spend the extra time and money on it. I'm only looking to make 300-350 hp so I think the stock manifolds will do fine for my power goals. I got some time to work on the down pipe this week. Slowly getting there.

  3. No particular reason to mount it up front, just wanted it to be different. I had planed to mount it on the side and run a v mount intercooler setup at one point.

    The engine mounts are the original l28 mounts. I just made some new mount brackets out of 1/4 steel.

  4. little update here, finally got to work on turbocharging. Hacked off the exhaust.

    I am going to use 1.75 stainless pipe for the turbo manifold. I need to get some welding supplies Monday. This is where the turbo will be located.

    The radiator will be angled so that the intercooler pipes will go over the top of it.

  5. I have been working on this project for 5 years now. The engine is a vg33 from a 2000 xterra and it has a 5 speed transmission from a 85 300zx The engine is controlled by the 93 maxima ecu and electronics, including the upper and lower intake. Runs really good right now but it really needs some boost. This is what the car looks like now.

  6. There is plenty of oil in there. Its just hard to se in that pic. If the cylinder head was starved of oil I would of herd lots of clicking and chatering from the hydraulic lifters. What could caus the valve guids to not get oil? Do you think bad gas could of gummed them up causing them to stick open?

  7. Motor was running great last night. I go to start it today and it suddnely looses compression. It sounded like the timming belt broke and I can here the pistons hiting the valves. I pulled the timming covers off and its still in perfict time, timming belt is new. This motor has only 30k on it. Then I pulled the valve covers off and all of the intake valves are stuck open. So what the heck happend to caus this? I am going to get another moter this weekend but I just dont understand what happend to this one. I never even got to drive it, I just got it running last night.

  8. I have the vg30et manifolds, thay do bolt to the vg33. The problem is the turbo interfers with the steering shaft. I plan on making custom a manifold Its the only way to get around this problem.I have a large intercooler with 3in inlet and out let and some 3in piping.

  9. Has anyone ever turbocharged A ka24e?

    I just did my nissan pickup and I cant get it to run right.It seems to run god in first and second in 3rd it starts to loose power and in 4th and 5th it has olmost no power at all at full boost. It seems like the longer I run it at full boost, the less power it has.What could be the problem?
