  1. I bought a Lincoln SP-135T a few years back. It is a wire feed mig welder. It can be used with or without gas. It does require you to prep the metal a little but I haven't had any trouble with it.

If I had the money I would buy a TIG for the ease and variety of metals you can work with. If you plan on doing thin gauge body work you will get the best results from a TIG or a gas MIG welder.

  2. I feel for all of you guys in Cali. Not to make you feel bad, but Florida couldn't care less what you are driving. The cops in Tampa don't even look your way unless you're driving drunk.

Knock on wood... I'll probably get pulled over tomorrow.

  3. I saw this screensaver on a friends computer today and I search the internet to find it.

It is a complete build-up of a four cylinder engine in 3-D. It begins with the block and ends with a cut away of the engine operating fully assembled.

I spent a good 20 minutes just staring at the screen when I first saw it.

The file came through clean for me but I would still have your spyware working if you download it because I don't know must about the host.

Allow some time because it is 44mb.

  4. My grandfather had similar problems when he bought his Explorer. He always pays cash for his cars and the dealership didn't want to deal with cash. They said that cash was too much of a bother because the government asked questions as to where the money came from. They must think that my 82 year old grandfather is a local drug dealer. It's just some bullshit way to get their financing money.

  5. I really like those rims. Worth the money and wait if you get them with the backspacing and size you need.

Maybe someone can answer this question. Is it possible to get this style wheel in a 5 lug pattern. I know they are an older style and by the looks of the pictures in this thread it doesn't seem possible. Has anyone seen or heard of Watanabe rims with a 5 lug pattern?

  6. I have a new ebay whiner question... Sometimes when I sell items on ebay I'll set a reserve price. I always research similar items that have sold recently and set my reserve low enough to still give the buyer a deal. I often get people asking what my reserve is. I don't think I have ever asked anyone what their reserve price is. I feel that ebay keeps it hidden for a reason and if they want to know badly enough then they can bid until it is reached. If they hit their limit and the reserve isn't met then it doesn't cost the bidder anything.

If I respond to their questions by trying to explain that I don't want the reserve known then will that scare off some potential buyers. Then again, if it scares them off then they probably weren't serious in the first place.

Just wondering what everyone else thinks.

  7. I am with you on this one. I wait until the end to bid. It doesn't make any sense to drive up the price just so that you can have your name listed as the high bidder.

They all got beat and now they're complaining. Next time they'll be faster.

  8. I like the idea of there being a ready to use kit available but I just don't see a 'one fits all' solution. There are a two types of transmission mount brackets in the 240Z. The transmission mount in the picture seems to be for the earlier 240Z (vertical bolt style). Then would this kit be of no use to anyone with a Z newer than 1972? Then there is the problem of what transmission to use with an RB motor. Is the kit going to have to come with a list of parts that is was designed to be used with?

Once again, I think it is a good looking kit. I have spoken to McKinney in the past and they are very easy to deal with and provide good products. I just don't see how one kit can fit all of the possibilities. I would be interested if you could purchase only the parts that you would need. I am sure they will do something of this nature.

I mounted an RB25 into a 240Z and I spent less than $20 to do it. Sometimes you just have to stop and think things out and you'll find and inexpensive way to get it done.
