  1. It looks like ****. I wouldn't spit in their hand for it.

I think the rear end is one of the nicest I've ever seen on a car. Very smooth. This car is the pinacle of automotive technology. 250-0 in 10 seconds, 0-250 in under a minute, and while cruising, using only enough HP to keep it cruising (50). One of the most luxorious interiors ever made, in the fastest production car with a speed limiter at 252 MPH. They don't know the actually max speed of the car. It's a sexy beast.

  2. Same on this one. The 6's in the stangs suck, and the corvette beofre the v8 sucked. The rb26 is a terrific engine, but if you wanna get picky, it is turbo and it has a high cg, and it certaintly is not light. The ford 302 is probably lighter, has a more better cg, keeps the weight back, and is N/A so plenty of response. Same goes for the 351 cept, it probably isn't lighter. I feel that the ultimate goal in a swap is to make the car better. Going from 8->6 cylinders isn't necessarily bad, but it certaintly isn't better. The handling is not better b/c the 6 is farther forward, has a higher cg, and is probably heavier then the 302. The response is dimished b/c the 6 is turbo and the 8 was N/A. The powerband is personal preference, but I always like relatively low in a heavy car like the stang. The only thing that is better imho would be the power (if comparing to a 5.0) or the potential to make power (if comparing to a 351, and even so, a 351 will put out alot of power, the rb probably bests it though). So while I think alot of people are looking at this with a "double standard" kind of viewpoint, I think my reasons are pretty much justified, opinions?

The 260, 289, 302, and 351 are the same block. They're damn near bullet proof too. My brother threw a rod at 5000 RPM, and it didn't pierce the block. Take a 289, add 20 years of technology and out came the 5.0.

Personaly, I don't think anyone can complain since I see people swaping Chevy and Ford engines into Nissan's and Toyota's, which i'm sure the Japanese aren't too fond of. Hypacritical.

  3. Last year, 15 at the time. After an oil change I am in the process of putting a hi-po intake on my dads 67 mustang. First goes the carb and all that, then the distributor, leaving a big hole in the engine..... Then goes the intake and whoops, theres two gallons of water right into the engine after I change the oil and drain and refill the radiator... It sucked.

  4. It's km/hr. I converted it and 391 is 242 mph' date=' which is definitely possible. I think it has to do with the arcade mode vs the sim mode, and that Toyota is DAMN fast and the guy playing the game is DAMN good. I've been into the 5:20's in the sim mode, but I'm still using the joystick so I'm handicapped somewhat.

I don't think the game is totally accurate either. I pulled a 6:53 in a 240Z for cryin out loud. Look at that link I had earlier to REAL lap times, that's faster than a Radical SR8.

Some of it has to do with driving on the verge of death the whole time, but also some of that has to be the game just not being accurate. For one thing when I did the 6:53 I had super soft tires on. If it weren't a practice session the tires would be completely gone within 1/4 lap.[/quote']

    Oh man, I feel f**kin retarted.... :D My 6:13 was in a M3 GTR.

  5. I was actually pretty impressed with the acurracy of the track in GT4. For the most part cars were +/- 10% of thier real life counterpart. There's a guy on gtplanet who is running mid 4 minute laps. I don't think that's ever been done. He also does it in the arcade mode and I believe the physics are simplified a bit. Here's a vid of him running a 4.44

He uses a toyota minolta becuase he likes it. I think there are cars with more potential in the car for sure. The most impressive part is that he's not using any driver aids and he uses the driving force pro wheel in 900 degree mode.

Most GT4 fans think the reason real life times don't get that fast is because it takes too much guts and 'on the limit' driving. What do you guys think?

Just how in th F**K did he get it going that fast????! I topped mine out with gear ratios all the way up at 25 and only got it to 270. He's goin 395!!

I did a 6:13 second lap with a top speed of 234, and I'm sure with 395, I can shave of 2-2:30 minutes...
