  1. Yeah, unlike Pittsburgh I could find many Zs in craiglist. Considering I had to go to Virginia and drive for 9 hours back to Pittsburgh, a bit of overpricing is far better Thank you for the valuable information.
  2. Actually I was considering getting my car to your shop for race settings... State Farm is going to total my car, hope I can meet you in the future with another Z
  3. Thank you for the kind advice
  4. Thank you guys. I'm okay so far, no other symptom followed they gave me a call today offering about $4400. I think they are based on LOW RETAIL condition of NADA price. I think my car is well enough to get HIGH RETAIL status so gathering evidences about it. Not sure if I can start finding a Z right now but for sure in the future. I have a plan to bring it back to my home country.
  5. Thank you guys. I think first thing I should do is to move my car from tow yard to a body shop I can trust before State Farm takes over. I have two recommendations but you know, it would be perfect if I find one knows better about Z. Any thoughts? Pasadena/LA area (farther okay)
  6. Thanks for the reply. I feel quite lucky that it was not a cliff accident. I won't even able to post this then Other opinions are welcome.
  7. Not a good topic to share with, I had a car accident several hours before. Before calling State Farm I wanna know about estimated repair costs. If it's not insane, wanna fix it even it costs a bit high. And suggestions for good body shops having knowledge of old Zs would be greatly appreciated. Frame seems to be twisted much. When you see the last picture you can see the driver's side seat position is a bit higher than the passenger side. Suggestions with good body shop with knowledge of Z around Pasadena or Socal Area would be very appreciated as well. So sad. Even before coming to the US, I wish I could buy something exactly like mine. Fortunately went a grad school in US, bought my z and kept for 1.5 years. Rushed to Virginia and drove 9 hours to Pittsburgh. Finally got the job and move to SoCal just a month ago. During really tough & lonely time my Z was one of the best friends. Feel terrible to see the front of the car. It just sucks.. Fortunately nobody else was there, I'm not hurt just slight back/shoulder pain. A cop said recently there was another accident at exactly the same spot, same style of Ferrari. CA Angeles Crest Fwy around 5000ft point. This is the car. Pictures of today's accident:
  8. I got what you mean. Thank you very much!!
  9. Hi, I have a problem like this. It was ok yesterday, I found this today morning. Driver side holes of the dam and the car body are all broken. The dam is just hanging off. I'm going to bring it to the shop I used to go, but want to know better about my car's problem and solutions before going there. What parts should I buy to get all those holes back? I am not an expert in car mechanisms.. Any advice will be helpful! Another question is can I just attach it with duct tape temporarily? I need to drive it tomorrow to airport. Thanks!
  10. Hello all, Finally I bought a 280z yesterday Need an inspection but the nearest auto shop doesn't have old machines so they can't. And I want to leave my Z to trustworthy person. It will be really helpful if somebody gives me an answer for this. Any good auto shops? Thanks!
  11. Actually looking for ebay, zcar.com, this site and elsewhere. Thanks
  12. Hello, guys I'm looking for some nice 240z/260z/280z to buy. Living in Pittsburgh, PA and a graduate student. My plan is buying a really good z car and getting it back to Korea next year. So, please read the following conditions and give me some advices. 1. Good condition - No rust, everything has to work fine, looking good I'm a graduate student here, so I don't have much enough to spend on maintenance. 2. SR20DET / VQ35 engine swapped In Korea, there is no or a few 1st generation z cars so SR20DET/VQ35 engines are relatively easy to handle because there are many cars with those engines. 3. A/C (optional) 4. Budget: $10000~$15000 Lastly, I don't have mechanical skills AT ALL so if a car breaks down, I need go to an auto shop. Have no idea whether local auto shops take an old z and repair it. I want to avoid such situation as much as I can. Want to use the car for daily use if possible. But there is a school shuttle bus and commuting is comfortable with that. Can I find such a car with mentioned budget? If I can't then what are other options? Thank you!
