  1. these are the threads on a 280z stub axle. are they repairable? please help!!!!!
  2. ok here is another question. i wanted to swap out the r180 in my 1971 240z for an r200. i was lucky enough to find and pull the whole rear suspension, axels, and differential off of a 1978 280z at the local pick-n-pull. i also wanted to use the stronger stub axle from the 280z. someone told me that instead of fussing with trying to remove just the stub axle, just swap the whole strut assembly. my question is can i remove the control arm and strut assembly from my 1971 240z and replace it with the control arm and strut assembly from the 1978 280z? i searched around with some keywords and didnt find anything....
  3. i am having trouble removing the spindle pin. i have removed the bolt and nut that hold it in....whats the secret from there? i put a nut on the threads (to not damage them) and hit the spindle pin with a hammer. it moves a 1/4 inch each direction but seems to be stuck in there.
  4. i need some advice on how to get the bushing out where the spindle pin connects to the control arm. i am replacing it with a urethane bushing. please help!!!!!!!!
  5. i have seen these at billet specialties. they look a little tall and might cause some hood clearance concerns with the JTR kit. anyone have any experience with these brackets?
  6. what brackets are those for the alt and compressor?
  7. i want to add A/C to my SBC hybrid 240Z. i am using the JTR kit. i would like to mount the compressor on the drivers side like the JTR manual says to do. does anyone have any pictures of their set up? thanks
  8. last sunday they had a half price sale at the local pick-n-pull. so i went to look for a 700r4 transmission for my SB chevy conversion into my 240Z. no luck finding the transmission that i needed, but i did come across a 1976 280Z that was 95% intact (someone had already taken the dashboard out) I remembered that a few of the HybridZ "elders" had told me that i would need to swap my weak 240 stub axels for the ones out of a 280Z and that i would also benefit by swaping my R180 diff for a R200.....well today was my lucky day, i got everything in the pictures below for $88. i thought that was a pretty good deal.
  9. i have the opportunity to buy them at cost plus 10% from an auto parts store that i used to work at. cost plus 10% is usually half of what retail prices are. i will check out the CC5 part number..... thanks
  10. i saw those there but i actually need the sanderson part number....
  11. what is the part number for the sanderson block hugger headers that fit with the JTR 350 V8 to 240z conv kit? thanks
  12. what was the part # on the sanderson headers that fit with the JTR kit.....? and someone mentioned "S&S" headers, are those the same as sandersons?
  13. i didnt see any interior pics in your album......i will wait til you post them here...i would really like to see those autometer gauges too.... thanks
  14. i currently have a 1971 240z and i am getting ready to swap the datsun motor for a chevy 350. my 240z has a 4speed manual trans in it right now. what shifter will i need for the conversion to the 700r4 trans? should i look for a auto shift lever and linkage from another Z? if yes, what years will work in my 1971 240z? will an aftermarket shifter work (like a B&M shifter)? i know that there are alot of V8 conversions out there and i was just wondering what other people are using? any help would be great PS i did a search and didnt find much info on this topic.......if you know of a thread here that addresses this, please post the link thanks
  15. i too am looking for a wide body kit like the one in this picture......
  16. can someone post a list of links to companies who make and sell these wide body kits? i have read this whole thread and i am a little confused as to who makes them, who is going to make them, and who doesnt make them anymore... thanks
  17. which is better? there is a definite difference in the price of these two kits. just wondering if anyone who has experience with either of these kits could help out as i am about to embark on a chevy V8 swap in my 1971 240z thanks
