Looking for an EFI wiring harness from an '82 or '83 280ZXT, in good condition with all connectors intact.

My 280Z is not non-running....but it is running like crap. It just spent 8 weeks in the shop getting an
I/C and various parts installed which cost major $$$$. They didn't even finish the job, and I had to get
some additional welding work done....and it still runs like crap. I can't figure out what the problem is,
and I'm trying to get my money back from the shop. I'm pretty frustrated....even thinking about selling the
car.

Wish I was closer, I'd definitely check her out.

Good looking car!

I'm trying to decide what color to paint my 280Z right now. Currently its ugly primer gray but the original color was dark green, I believe 303, I can see spots of it in the interior and engine bay. Colors I'm considering are 919 or 411 yellow, or maybe gun metal gray, also I like lime green like Big Phil's car. Thought about 918 orange but its too close to the color of my other Z (905 red- has alot of orange in it). Opinions anyone?

It depends on the rust. If it really is 99% rust free, its definitely worth the price, especially being a '70. Just make sure you look over all the usual rust-prone areas before making the decision.

Nice car! From the pic, it already looks like it has the lowered suspension?

Graphite Konig Rewinds for my 240Z (205/60/15). Don't like the big rims on the older Zs. Thinking about getting similiar for my 280.
-
I pay the grand total of $90 a year for my 240Z since its rated a classic car (by State Farm). My 280Z is higher, around $250 a year since they won't rate it as a classic car until more work is done on it. In other words, they think its too ugly to be "classic" lol.
Of course it helps that I'm 29+.

Where in IL? You're more than welcome to jump ship to come over to the 'neck state to your east. If you're close to bloomington, come for a drive! I need friends who don't have big, expensive audi's and bmw's that are hella...whatever they hella are...
My closest car friends are in Our-kansas. My working 40hrs/week on top of a more than full course load doesn't make that easy.
I'm in Springpatch....oops I mean Springfield. Very family-oriented town with ALOT of SUVs and minivans....which is fine, unless you are single or a gearhead. I'd love to make it over to Indiana sometime...have relatives in the Kokomo area, but haven't been there for awhile. Soon as I get some work done on my 280, maybe make a road trip over there.

This town is like the black hole of Z-car enthusiasts. I'm the only one! My closest Z-car buddy is in Chicago....200 miles away. Being a "ricer" and sportbike enthusiast, I'm a total outcast in this town. This town is all about American muscle and Harleys (gag...and double gag). For example, I have to go 60 miles for anyone to do any turbo work on my 280Z.....and another example, I was thinking about getting a WRX for a daily driver and went to look at one at the Subaru dealership and they didn't have any on the lot. The salesman said they don't carry them because there is "no market". God, this town sucks.
On the bright side, I just "snuck in" to a car cruise here in town with my 240Z (the only Japanese car I saw out of a billion Mustangs and Camaros)...however, I did get some cheers and people yelling "a Datsun!"...so maybe there is hope!
-
Thats the cool shade of yellow! The 240Z actually came in two shades of yellow, the sunshine yellow like yours and the "lime" yellow (can't remember the paint code). Mine was originally the "lime' color, which i don't care much for.

Well yesterday I loaded up all the parts in my 280Z (Spearco intercooler, piping kit, BOV, down pipe, boost controller, guage, Tokico struts, Eibach lowering springs) and will be taking her to Bloomington to get it all installed. She's loaded to the gills!
Hope they work fast, can't wait to get the car back. Next up will be wheels, flares, paint, maybe a small rear spoiler....then possibly in the future, bigger turbo, injectors, etc. etc. The list never ends!

Outstanding!

Beautiful car!

Any pics?
I love the 280ZX 2+2's with the t-tops. Thats what my first Z was (although it was an '81).
-
I love the 86 Z31. it has the flared fenders, purty. but there's hardly any out there in decent shape anymore. Not much can be swapped to an S30 w/o some real work. It does have 5 lug spindles tho.
Check the Diff to see if it's got finns. if it does you might have a LSD R200 which would be worth the price of admission.
Theres a very clean '86 300Zx for sale here on a used car lot. Think he's asking too much at $6,995....but you could always talk him down. I could post the link to the used car lot if you're interested.

My 2 Zs:
The 240:

Ah, a 240Z and crotch rockets. I gotta see it!
-
Great story!
Its interesting, my ugly primer grey 280Z seems to get more attention from the females than my beautiful, recently painted 240Z. Who can ever figure them out??
-
I believe that car's a '73, not a '74. If it was a '74, it would be a 260Z.
-
That was a pretty green one! Nice commercial.

Well, she sure likes the boost from my turboZ, but i`m going to keep this one automatic and all stock. It`ll be her 1st car so i want to play it safe with less hp and keep it as a commuter car for collage.
Well she'll be the coolest kid on campus....driving the classic Z, as opposed to all the generic, shapeless blobs out there that the other kids drive.

Loking for a T3/T4 turbo for my 240Z project. Must have internal wastegate and must bolt into place of the OEM turbo with no
modifications necessary.
