  1. I have a Dual Stage Throttle Body on my L28ET import motor. It has a 38mm primary & 41mm secondary, one above the other. Does anyone know it's origins or if it would be better or worse than a single of any diameter? Dennis in Oz
  2. Hi All, I'm told it's only auto 280ZX Turbo's that were fitted with oil coolers. I want to put one on a manual. Does anyone have the adaptor attachment that comes standard on these auto 280ZXT's & will sell it. Cheers, Dennis in Oz
  3. Can I ask a stupid question? How on earth are you going to get 500rwhp to the ground successfully? I have 320rwhp im my HR30 (helix will know what I'm talking about) coupe, it weighs about 1200kg (2640lb) and I have 245/45 x 16 street legal racing tyres (Yokohama A032) and I'm on the limits of cohesion now, so how you going to fair with another 200, give or take. Dennis in Oz
  4. This might be all to late, but when I was looking at turbos and had in mind a GT35R, I was advised to get the smaller .86 (think) front housing, as it would be much more responsive and have less lag than the stock 1.06. As you say, money is no object, but if it was as in my case, I'm going with a VG30BB turbo on an 2818 L28ET engine. These late model ball bearing VG30 turbos flow about 30% more air for the same psi that a stock T03 bearing turbo. ' Dennis in Oz
  5. Thanks guys, you have been a great help. You should pat yourselves on the back as if I asked these sort of questions in Oz forums, I would get some smart dick answers. Cheers & thanks again. Dennis in Oz
  6. Can someone help? I stumbled across a page on the net that showed which drive gear I should use for a particular diff ration, but can't find it. I need the teeth numbers of the drive cogs for 3.9:! & 4.11:1 diffs in stock L series gearboxes. Thanks.
  7. When was the US maxima a variant L24E? Cause in Oz we had the L24E in our Skyline and after 83 it had 9mm rod bolts and same big end as S130 280ZXT. Cheers, Dennis
  8. I was sent a PM by someone that had one, but cannot get anything more than a blank page on my screen, all due to a pop up stopper I believe. Mayolives I think is the guys ID, so if someone knows him could you get him to contact me direct on ghostrider@westnet.com.au I would like confirmation that it is a P90 Manual Cam that he has on offer. Cheers, Dennis
  9. Hi George, Get your hands on a stock MR30 set up, it's a bolt in affair. If I had have known a couple of months ago, I could have given you a complete set up for FREE as the MR30Ti hatch I just wrecked was a manual. You need a pedal box, clutch master & slave cylinders and a gearbox. Send me a PM here or on SAU and we can discuss the pro's and cons of shipping things to you from Oz. Dennis
  10. Does anyone have a STOCK 280ZX Turbo Camshaft they would be willing to part with and for how many dollars. The stock cam off a P90 head is what I have been advised to acquire.
  11. Hi All, After speaking with the Nissan gurus here in Oz the decision has been made to use the P90 head with KA24E Pistons, but with the rim machined off which creates an 89mm flat top piston with the P90 head and about 8.3:1 Compression. Thanks again.
  12. This is all gettin top messy for me, think I'll stick to the original plan so long as I can get the F54 to bore 3.0mm oversize and see what happens from there. As for the fuel comment, we have 98 octane straight from the pump here in Oz. Might get onto an N42 head just for afters maybe and compare. Cheers and thanks for your ideas
  13. Be a little wary of cheap turbo's. Here in Oz we have been getting dumped on with a cheap T70 type turbo, but it's MADE IN CHINA and they DON'T work. Lots of guys here have bought them and needed to spend megga dollars on them so that they work sort of. Just be very aware that just because it has GARRETT on the casting, by no means does it say for sure that its a genuine GARRETT turbine. The real mccoy Garrett GT40 sells in Oz for about AU$2000.00 so do your exchange conversions and see what it is in US$. Cheers, Dennis
  14. Also L20A rods create a 9.33:1 comp, bit high for an L series turbo motor I would think.
  15. Great but what ARP? Do you get them for L series Nissan engines or do I have to get Chev or something else?
  16. Yes! L20A engines have 135mm rods, but what if I deck the block by 1.0mm thats only about 0.040 off the top of the block. That would give me a negative deck height of less than 0.020, bring the comp up and still use the P90 turbo designed head. Penny for your thoughts!
  17. I am building an L28 turbo motor, using the F54 block. The eventual capacity is going to be 2949 using L24 rods and KA24E pistons & L28 crank & Felpro head gasket. Am I better off using the P90 head and 7.88:1 compression or an N42 head and 8.87:1 compression? Which head will give me better quelch zones, P90 or N42? Which will give me better torque, P90 or N42? And fuel will be 98 octane minimum. Sometimes 100 with the addition of 10% Toluol/Methyl Benzine/Ethanol/Toluene additive. Love to know your thoughts.
  18. I need it to go with my L20ET in a Paul Newman Version HR30 Skyline Coupe. The L20 is soon to be an L28 (2949) and will be using the original L20 dizzy first up, but thought it good to have a spare, although it is an 81 280ZX Turbo AFM & ECU that I have to drive it all with. I also have a Microtech piggy back unit to control the Fuel & Ignition settings. Am I doing something terribly wrong?
  19. Can anyone shed any light on my problem??? What's the top choice of Conrod Bolts for any quick L28 engine???
  20. Hi All, Can anyone please help? I am looking for an L28ET 280ZX Turbo Distributor for my PNV. Please advise availability and cost & freight to Sydney Australia. For Aussie members please advise if you know where I can source one. Cheers, Dennis
  21. Can anyone please help? I have an AFM from a 1981 S130 280ZX Turbo, I am told it is unique as it has to be used with the same year ECU. Can anyone give me part numbers and serial numbers for the 1981 S130 280ZX Turbo ECU's? Cheers, Dennis in Ozland
  22. Can anyone tell me how I can tell the difference between a turbo dizzy and non turbo dizzy on the 280ZX F54/P90 motor. Cheers, Dennis in Ozland
  23. Thanks heaps, for this information. But I can't believe that from over 60 reads only one could help me. Cheers.
  24. Hi All, Just to let everyone know, I have just acquired an F54 block, P90 head and turbo inlet masnifold for AU$640.00 delivered to my door. The head has a mild porting job already, but it has a hot cam as it's normally aspirated. The cam specs in the motor is: 260 degrees duration 0.315 lift clearances: 0.010 inlet & 0.012 exhaust Lobe centres are unknown & could be either 110 or 108 degrees @ 0.050. I have been advised all will be OK if the lobe centres are 110, but to narrow if 108. Can anyone please advise the specs on the STANDARD 280ZXT CAM??? Cheers, Dennis in Ozland
