You might want to check out a few of these http://www.paceparts.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=132
How about a complete 400 HP LS2 6.0 Litre Gen IV for $5,859.95? And that includes a factory warranty.
BTW, I would do a ZZ383 http://www.paceparts.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=73193

FYI - I think Hooker Headers http://www.holley.com still sells a Datsun Z/SBC conversion kit that includes long tube headers, engine and trans mounts. Please keep in mind that they are Scarab style.
-
Precision Replacement Parts http://www.prp.com/prp/ makes a good kit that includes almost all the rubber for the whole car EXCEPT don't use the door seals. These are too thick and hard so you have to slam the door all the time. Save yourself some grief and buy the factory seals for the doors.
This place sells the whole kit for $239 http://www.weatherstripspecial.com/240z.html
And, of course, they show up on eBay all the time http://search.ebay.com/weatherstrip-kit-240Z_W0QQsofocusZbsQQsbrftogZ1QQsonewuserZ1QQfromZR10QQcatrefZC6QQsotrtypeZ1QQsotrvalueZ1QQsosortpropertyZ1QQcoactionZcompareQQcopagenumZ1QQcoentrypageZsearch

I don't have the Samsung but my Marantz projector http://www.marantz.com/hifi/america/main.html uses the same Texas Instuments Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology.
I have a 104" screen and the picture is awesome! The colors are right on and it is super bright. The bulb is a bit expensive though @ $280 and has to be changed every 2000 hrs. BTW, the projector keeps track of the hours and warns you but if you don't change the bulb it shuts itself off.
The technolgy behind DLP is amazing - it's all done with mirrors - 1.3 MILLION of them! http://www.dlp.com/default.asp?bhcp=1

May we always remember the things that we have to be grateful for:
Family, good friends and mentors, good health and HybridZ.org!!!
Merry Christmas to all.......

Send a message to admin Tim240Z and see if he will add you to the list.
Oops - looks like I was a minute to slow.
-
Using the JTR method there is a lot of room so it's very easy to service
And, if you take your time and do it right it will look like the factory engineered it that way
I use two 31" long stainless steel glass packs running alongside the driveshaft and two resonators out the back.
-
It's under the "Engine Components" listing on the main forum page.
-
No, an HEI type Dizzy does not require a condensor.
-
Mike from Jags That Run (screen name MikeJTR) checks this site once in a while so you might want to touch base with him. The last tread I saw from him on this subject was back in April where he stated that he was almost done with the ZX conversion
http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=97239&highlight=MikeJTR
BTW, he already lists a few parts, (including the headers but no mounts) on his site.
Hard to say on the $5,000. It depends on which Camaro engine/transmission and what other changes he is making. I don't think a low mileage LT1/WC T-5 conversion out the door for $5,000 is too bad a deal. If it's some tired old 305 with a 2 BBL. and 350 automatic it's probably a bit steep.
-
On most old Ferrari's the gate is attached to the transmission
Which is the way a T-5 is set up so I would think you would want to try to do the same thing.
BTW, if you are interested, you can buy a 1/3 scale model of the GTO shifter http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=745&item=6939622940&rd=1

I guess my cars "theme" would be Italian!
-
Tom Edwards over at Scorpion Z Cars http://www.scorpionzcars.com/ sells one but I don't know if it will work on a T56. I would at least check with him.
BTW, if you do contact him, please tell him that the price on his web site doesn't have the decimal in the right place and list the gate for $1,600.00!
-
Lots of places (like Autozone) sell rebuilt short blocks but if you want 450 - 500 HP you will throw it all away except the block.
BTW, a 450 - 500 HP motor will require many changes from reinforcements to the chassis to changing the rear end. Make sure you know what you are getting yourself into.
You can get a brand new crate 350 motor (with heads) for $1389.00 http://www.paceparts.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=24755
It even has a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty
-
At 425 HP and 460 ft. lbs. of torque it a little shy of your requirements but a GM crate ZZ383 for $4,869.95 is a pretty good deal http://www.paceparts.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=73193
-
There was one at one time. Check out the info at Eric Neyerlin's site http://www.zparts.com/showcase/bodykits/nalle_gt/nalle_gt_001.html

See if you have one of these in your area. http://www.gastankrenu.com/
They do an awesome job and it is guaranteed for life.

Hey Aux, I love those games!!! I have all of them sitting on my shelf right next to all the Leisure Suit Larry games as well as all the Kings Quest games. There are about 20 additional Sierra games on the shelf as well.
Thanks for the great memories

Pace Performance sells both GM and Edelbrock crate motors http://www.paceparts.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=130
Be careful because a lot of people call rebuilt motors "crate" motors. IMHO a true "crate" motor is built from all new parts (including block and heads) and carries a factory warranty.
-
We have been telling Precision that their seals are to thick and firm for years but they have never changed them. You will be slamming your doors forever!
They only one's that work right are the factory seals. They aren't cheap but they work.
-
I think Tom Edwards http://www.scorpionzcars.com/ did an awesome job on that car and I love it in black!
Of course the wheels are replicas of what is on the real Ferrari 250 GTO. They are real knock-off, 72 spoke stainless wire wheels made by Dayton wire wheel. I've got the same ones on my car and you install them with a lead hammer. They are a real pain to clean though.
-
Yeah, based on his feedback I wouldn't buy anything from him!
Also, I'm not sure I would call it a "crate" motor because the block and heads are used. I think the true definition of "crate" means it is all new and comes with a warranty. What he is selling is really a rebuilt motor.
As I said in a different thread, I would buy it right from GM and the new ZZ383 is pretty awesome for the money.

-
Why don't you try a GM ZZ383 crate motor http://www.paceparts.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=73193
425 HP and 460 ft. lbs. of torque for only $4,869.95!!!!
It even comes with a factory warranty!

It's an old 365 HP 327 SBC with Tri-Power
heard a story of a 454 Z
in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
Posted
Sorry, haven't heard of either one of them.
BTW, I don't think I have ever seen and V8 with "3 4 barrel carbs" - maybe 3 2 BBL carbs?
I will add a big block owned by Ron Jones which I think had a best time of 8.46 in the 1/4 mile http://www.zparts.com/showcase/rj-dragz/pages/rj-preview.html
