I had the same problem with the cable not being grounded was causing my laptop to crash-i finaly bought one of them doo dads from radio shack to put on the cable and ran the usb one thru it twice i also grounded the cable shell with a wire to one of the screws it did the trick i think it was picking up spark from the ignition-now having rest problems and found the injector was still sending fuel even when the engine was stopped- i think i found the problem the engine temp sensor is on the same batch of wires as the injector and it was close to a spark plug wire i moved it fired it up and it sounded much better-didn't have a chance to anylize it further will know better tommorow-sherwood
