  1. I'll be watching this. It would be a really cool swap. Points for originality. As far as I know, knobody has done this, so you are treading new ground. Everything would have to be custom made. If you don't do the work yourself, you are looking at a bill hittin' the 5 figures.

I haven't been around much the past few years, but as of today, will be around more. If you have any questions about the LC2, ask here or drop me a PM.

  2. I'm getting a little flex out of the board thats bolted to the insert, but most of that is just rotation of the insert in the hitch

Clever way to install the hitch. For the issue quoted above, what I do with the hitch on my truck, is use wood shims and jam them in there to take up the slack. Works great. Especialy works great for those that keep the recievers inside thier hitch all the time and don't like hearing the clunking around while driving.

  3. Thanks man. Little confused, but were you offering one to me for ten bucks? If so, then yeah, I'll take it. I'll email you.

On a side note, man, has this website changed since I've been here last. I have to look around and read all the new stuff. Looks like a crap load more people too. Seems like a lot of young guys getting into the Z's now days, which is cool.

  4. I'll throw some pictures in for you guys. I don't have to worry about having to go through the gears with the fluid drive, however, I was told that I shouldn't use it much because its a weak point in the transmission. I'll check the linkage tonight and see what's going on. Thanks for the website too.

I plan on making the Dodge a fun weekend driver. Hit it with some matte black paint, tint the windows, black Diamond racing wheels with new tires, new weatherstripping and if I have the guts, chop the top. I have a '47 Plymouth top that I can butcher to make the chop top happen. I have like four sets of bumpers, but I kind of like it bumperless. I'll start playing with it over this coming winter.

  5. I have American Family and I'm 32 with a okay driving record. I have their collector car insurance, but you MUST have a daily driver insured by them. For full insurance on the Z, agreed value of $12k, I only pay $57 per year. Whats weird is I just insured my new project, '47 Dodge D24 and it's $80 a year for full coverage.

  6. He guys, recently got a new project. It's a '47 Dodge D24. Flathead six, three on the tree, air bag suspension, and the body is very decent. A little mud here and there, but nothing major. Came with a crap load of parts too. Runs and drives, but having a problem with the transmission. I can't get the damn thing into third or reverse. When I pull the gear shift towards me, I can't get it to go into gear! It's very frustrating. I need to move this thing into storage so my buddies and I can finish the Z. It's taking up precious garage space. Any idea what to look for? Any websites you can point me to? Thanks guys :-D

  7. Hey guys, haven't been here in like 5 months. Been spending a lot of time on my duplex and not on the computer or my Z. Sorry to those that PM'd me. I'm just getting around to answering them now.

I pulled the Z out of the corner of the garage and am going to get it moving under its own power once and for all. I'm getting married to a beautiful blonde hair, blue eyed woman on Oct. 4th and the car needs to be done before the wedding date.

I'll probably be around a little more since I will be working on the Z. Oh, I want to change my user name to CruxGNZ. The definition of the word fits my Z project better.

  8. I'm on my way to the local Urgent Care (have a nasty sinus infection), so I stopped in at the 'rents house to use their computer real quick.

I am loving the duplex. What's kind of neat, is that my Dad did the finishing work on this place 20 years ago. The duplex was bought off a friend, so I got a AWESOME deal that just could not be passed up. First thing I did is gut my master bath and make it the way I wanted it. Never been able to do that before. It's a great feeling. Whenever I have a free moment, I'm tearing something down or replacing something. It sucks thinking, "should I buy a new water softener, or a shifter for the Z...?" Priorities, you know?

I'm getting my new work bench set up in the basement (the basement is attached to the garage (its a two story, exposed basement), making it a great setup :) ) so I can play with the Datsun when I don't want to work on the home.

I still live in Brookfield, and there is a nice park right down the road, so I'm thinking of having another Z shindig this coming fall at the park.

Z-Gad, I did make some progress on the GNZ before I moved into my place, but nothing to major, just some wiring that needed to be done. The next major thing is to start the damn engine! If I start it, I will make time to take video and pictures, then update you guys here.

  9. Hey man long time no see, good to see ya back. Looks like we're both in the same boat. My Z is tucked away in the corner of the shop. I hope to get cookin on it starting this May. If ya need any help with the car just give me a holler.

Thanks John! I may need some help in a couple months. I still have your phone #.

  10. Guys, sorry but I can't get your PM's! My inbox is full. I'll have to come back another time and delete a crap load of messages, ...unless an admin wants to bump my inbox back to where it was?

For the time being, please e-mail me, thanks.

  11. I want to apologize to everyone that has PM'd me. I have not had a computer since late October and can't really keep up with e-mails, or my favorite web site, Hybrid Z. When I popped in today, my inbox was full, so I cleaned it up a bit. PM away, BUT realize that it will be hard for me to get back to you in a timely manner. EDIT: My inbox can only store 250(?) messages, but I have about 600. Something happened since I was on here last. So, if you need to get a hold of me, just drop me an e-mail instead. Also, I can't reply to any of your messages either, sorry

Just in case some of you were curious, I purchased a big duplex back in October. My side of the duplex has a nice 2.5 car garage, with an I-beam running parallel to the opening, making for a nice engine hoist. The duplex needs some updating and that's what I have been doing with my time and money. Unfortunately the GNZ has been pushed into the corner of my garage untill I have some time to work on it.

I originally promised Garrett that I wouldn't show up here untill I had another update on the GNZ (because I spent WAY to much time with my butt in the chair putzing around on here instead of working on the Datsun), but after a couple e-mails and a PM wondering where the hell I was, I figured I would drop in and let you guys know I'm still alive and kicking.

The GNZ will still be finished, but since droppin' megabucks on the duplex, it's going to be hard to get it done when I want to. At least, when I do work on it, I'll have a nice flat concrete floor to roll around on and a roof over my head instead of just an asphalt driveway.

Just as a side note, since moving in, I elected to not get cable/high speed internet or buy a computer right away. IT'S SO NICE! Instead of plopping down and watching TV or playing around on the interweb, I do something constructive with my time. Heck, the other day I made a fire (I have a natural fire place that I absolutely love. I have fires almost every night) and sat down and actually read a book. Think about how you spend your time nowadays. Just a little change can make a big difference.

Hopefully next time I'm on here, I will have an update on the GNZ.
