It's worse than that, Working out in gods garage and we've had snow in the hills already. I'm unemployed, I'm a masonry forman and there is nothing going on here. Ive had 3 years to think about it. Ive got time and some money. It's not unemployment.
The hood does have a hole. It doesn't stick over the cowl much so I was thinking I could put a piece of tin in the cowl to help. If I put a breather top on the air cleaner and seal it off, I think I'll get enough air. The guy that put he scoop on screwed it up and let it sag. It's cracking in acouple spots. Needs work.

I've done it. After the war I had with the stock one, it was easy. The motor was in. I think I "just" pulled it in from the bottom. I Had help, I could have tapped it in from above. I guess all I know for sure is the motor was in.

It's a long and winding path with many on it, welcome to it.

Nice. I like the black chrome. Looks like painting first worked out. Carry on.
-
I like it. Nice colors.

I don't know. I paid $100 for the hood with it on.

Thanks, It's a vette L88 on a 240 hood that doesn't sit right. One more thing to fix.
-
Got the Z fired up yesterday to move it to the other end of the carport and some jackstands so I can fix it. It's been leaking oil, blowing oil and a bad noise in the back. Rinsed it off and went for a ride around town. Made it 1/2 block from the house, goosed it, big bang and rolled into the driveway.
Doing a r200/obx, poly bushing allaround, front brakes, SS brake lines, frame repair, 700r4 and rebuild the motor. I've Got alittle money, so hopefully have it running this year.

I think it's a short in the wiring. I'd start with the steering column, hazards, brake lights have power. Just look for rubs and melts.

I take it that if you kill it, You can clutch it and it will run? Killing it doesn't break the circuit?
-
I can see that the learning has begun. It looks like alot of Zs do before the are brought back from the edge. (or pushed over)

I am going to run only a tru-cool 4589 24,000 GVW in my 700r4. That much less heat in the Radiator. It's the only cooler I have in my Pathfinder.

Good advertisement for a clutch shop. That's brutal.

Why not both?

I don't think it's out of line. Looks like it's had some love. It's the little things that cost time and money. If your looking for a turnkey, get him to drop a grand and enjoy.

I have a Mallory Unilite. It's 4 7/8 wide, 2 5/8 tall. JTR mount, 5/8 to the firewall.

NICE!! I can see your smile from here. Love the hood. Another Z to lust after.

Heh, I wanted to hear from guys running something similar and their thoughts. It is a DD with lots of around town and 55/65 mph. The motors built for off idle to 5500rpm. thanks

I just pulled the r200 diff. out of a 75 2+2 man. I It thought it would be a 3.54, it's a 3.70. I'm swapping it into my early 260 that has a r180 3.36 clsd.(blown) I'm doing the OBX, 300ZXT cvs, so I want the right combo. 400hp 383 sbc. 700r4 and as tall of tires as will work. 25 in. tall I'm thinking. It's my dd. I liked the 3.36 but it was with a th350. .02 welcome

I'm starting my R200 OBX swap right now. I think it's the best bang for the Buck.
-
Thanks Grumpy, The 400 will stay on the cart. I'm off to work. I'll get back to you for help with a combo.
-
I'm getting ready to rebuild my 383 sbc. (externally balanced). I'm looking for 400+ hp. I have Edelbrock Preformer heads and intake and I'm going to put a roller cam in it. I have a 400 sbc. setting on a cart. I'm thinking of rebuilding it instead. I've never ran one, I've heard they have overheating problems. The 383 is a 87 block, the 400 is a 76. I'm thinking the parts will swap. It's my DD. (When it's not on jackstands) Chime in.
