  1. Yeah old trucks are good trucks. I am really not a Mopar guy, but everyone and their mother wants this engine combo so it should see this weekend. I am using that money to finish funding the BB Chevy project. As for the transmissions-I am sticking with the TH400 for time reasons. I dont have time to pull that Corvette apart, so its going to go in the garage for future yanking. After this weekend, I should have everything ready for a new heart beat.
  2. Ok guys, of course christmas held me down for a second, but I have finally pulled this beast of an engine out. I tried to do it all in one shot but couldnt pull that long torque flight out. Had to separate it. Look at the photos and realize how big that engine looks coming out of the bay-Amazing. Gonna clean up the bay, organize the wires and prep the big block for insertion.
  3. You should take advantage of the red antifreeze if your components are majority aluminum. The days of green were used due to older radiators using "tin/copper", but these days more aluminum is in the works. http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/how-to/products/1272436
  4. Ok well my project has taken a small twist to the better. Originally I was going to do 468/4 speed. Realizing I might rip out the rear end, I decided to go back to TH400. Then this jewel came in. "1995 Corvette for sale $400". I was doing a late night search for Corvette seats when I ran into the ad. Of course I had to battle quite a few people, but I got it. engine runs, its basically complete with a patch of body work being needed on the right side door. So how has this taken a twist? Well the 95 TH700R4 is refined from the old bugs of the 700R4-not to mention the rear end will come in handy as well as the aluminum drive shaft. Here is the best part-I already own a 1990 Corvette than can use alot of these parts-especially the LT1. And finally. The Vette only has 33k miles. Loveelllllly!
  5. Ok so I started on the project today. A little history before I continue. I purchased this car as you see it. Ran good, cold A/C (yes) but it just wasnt my thing. I prefer a Chevrolet engine over any, so with that I created this transplant. The guy who had it before kept up with it but by the ducts tapes, wire looms and other things, it began to appear he was "patching" things up instead of actually repairing the issues. Like I said, frame wise this car is southwest with no rust, tunneled, tokico and strut/shock braced. So with that here are some photos.
  6. Hi guys. I had an account here all the way since I dont know, but it appears my account is invalid. Just want to show some starter pics of my existing project. Its a 1972 240z with a wide kit. Adjustable koni suspension, channeled frame, front/rear stabilizer bars and 300z rear end. The engine is a Dodge 400 Bigblock with a TQ 727. Autometer gauges, demon, edelbrock and his buddies. This is the last photo I took today involving this engine combo. Tomorrow I will start removing the Dodge engine/tranny to slap in a seasoned over 468/TH400. I will be adding some photos and video as I go website permitting. There are a few things/changes I am making to the car exterior wise as well. Anyhow just thought id share.
