  1. so i put a new chts on my 88 300zx and a new cas since it was cracked, and it made my problem worse. It doesnt jolt or hesitate anymore as much but it's the idling that is all messed up it misses every revolution on at least three cylinders and the tach sits on zero when i come to stop at a stop sign or a stop light. I have no' idea why it would be doing this unless my computer is acting wacky. Another thing is that once im above 2500 RPM there are no problems what so ever. please help me figure this out
  2. so i just went and shadowed a day at a mechanics shop down the road. When i got there i noticed a decent 280z. I asked some guys in the shop whos it was and where it's going and they said that it was headed to the junkyard. The only thing wrong with it is the rotted frame rails, everyone says they are really bad. Should I try and get my hands on it or no?
  3. so last night my car was chuggin so bad, on my way home from takin my girlfriend home. So when i got to her house it was like 11:30 so i figured lets look at my wires to c if they are arcin'. Well sure enough #3 cylinder is arcing and my coil wire arcs to whatever makes a good ground. Could this be somthin wrong in my distibutor or just bad wires?
  4. like i said it only does it when the car is real hot. sometimes it takes the car to be operating above normal temperature, like 210 - 220 degrees instead of like 175 to 190. I'm gettin ready to go do the fuel pressure check right now. By the way how would you check to see if your CAS wasn't working properly (electrical wise)?
  5. ok so i did the ecu check (the two indicator lights on the ecu) and i got my fuel pump, my crank position sensor, and my O2 sensor. would any of those cause any of the others to act the way it is.
  6. does anyone know if your coolant temp sensor, head temp sensor, crank position sensor, O2 sensor, and i believe the MAF are all on the same circuit?
  7. first things first...i'm gonna change the regulator and see what happens. if you hear anyone with the same problem let me kno
  8. another thing, sometimes in the morning when i start it up it will sitt there and run like its getting no fuel and when you tap the gas you hear a loud squeel and then it's fine, but the belts are all fine. How would i test the ecu?
  9. ok for the past 2 days my car has been runnin like sh*t...its non-stop now. It chuggs so bad that i can't get like above 60, and the thing is its only when its hot,I mean really hot (outside) its been in the 90's out here and this is the only time it has been runnin so bad. This makes me think that my some kinda of temperature sensor is bad. Another thing when i get on it, it detonates BAD which makes me believe its the fuel pressure regulator which has the fuel temp sonsor built in. Let me kno what you guys think. By the way its a 1988 300zx turbo
  10. so i ran the diagnostics today on my car and i got code 11, 12, 13, 33, and 42. The crank position sensor, my MAF sensor, my fuel temp. sensor, my O2 sensor, and my head temp. I've been lookin around and can't find anything on the fuel temp. sensor or the crankshaft position sensor. Any suggestions where i can get these besides a dealer. I guess all these problems would solve my hesititation and chugging problem wouldnt it?
  11. i did about 125 mph on the highway today then when i started to slow down every now and than it would chug a long for like a couple seconds....i need valve guide oil seals, think i fouled a plug?...the temp was also really high and i dont kno why...would the higher heat of the motor affect the plugs heat rating so it wold burn wrong?
  12. what are your suggestions for an eleectric fan for an 88 300zx? Does anyone know the stock CFM that the stock fan pulls? The way i want to mount it is right on the back of the radiator support and not on the radiator. I'm lookin more towards the 16x15 3/4 2500 CFM 17 amp cyclone fan by flx-a-lite. Let me know what your ideas are.
  13. actually i tore it apart because thats the word i got from a friend (the siezed info) and all it was, was my wastegate actuator arm lost it E clip and it was an easy fix im just glad my turbo didnt go because my family is having a rough time right now and i dont have a job to pay for a new one. thanks for your answers tho.
  14. i didnt get any suggestions from you guys so i decided to look into my car myself and found out that my turbo siezed. I'm guessin from lack of oil, anywho anyone know of any t3/04e turbos for sale and an 86 exhaust manifold. Now has anyone thought of making and oil circuit for the turbo only having an oil pump and a resevoir for just the turbo?
  15. ok guys so i was driven last night and i notice my stock boost gauge in my 88t wasn't boostin like it should. It was only creatin like 2-3 lbs of boost when its supposed to be 5. whats goin on here? Plus my boost sensor up by my right head light is clicking when i slightly touch the gas pedal. Plus i listened last night to c if was boostin/listenin for the whistle of the waste gate opening but i heard hardly anything. help me out
