Does anyone know the exact bolt size for the bolts that mount the orange air cleaner to the su carbs? It doesnt hurt to run it without the big orange air cleaner right? thanks

I only have a header on my z right now and im lookin for a cheap stock exhaust. im in san jose

you guys see the pic of my engine? look at the open vaccuum line pointing up to the left and right of each carb. What are those? I put vaccuum caps over those today, should they be open?

my 240z l26 wants to start but wont! I know its carb related but what are some of the things I should try? Im an efi guy so these su carbs are very new to me. Ive played with the choke, got it running for like 30 secs then it slowly shuts off. after cranking it so much I noticed a lil gas dripping out of the rear carb, the front carb seems fine and I have the stock orange intake cover and air cleaner I dont think it would matter but should I put that back on?thanks

haha ya sorry you didnt get the z bro,im just as big an enthusiast as you if not bigger, ive been workin on zs for years and I needed a new project ever since I lost my z31. Its been depressing to see all the zs drive by me lol. So I came across the deal and went to check the car out as soon as I found it on craigslist and ever since then I kept talkin him lower and got the deal I felt was right and picked up the car. No back fees so im just focusing on getting it on the street right now, Then the l28et, holset, and megasquirt gos in.

I just picked up at 70 240z with a running l26 built by z dr all for 550!! did I get a good deal? my plans are to drop a l28et in it that im getting from a friend, the z has a 5 speed to. It has no exhaust after the header how much could I get a stock exhaust after the header? if anybody has one let me know.

how would you think that would work? its not gonna just bolt up, the l28 is completely different.

A local exhaust shop should be able to do that for me right? while im there I can get the internal wastegate welded shut to right? Do the holset turbos have that type of internal wastegate setup?cuz im gonna be running an external wastegate, im not to familiar with Holset turbos.

Ill be running a hx35w on my l28et and I forget that the compressor outlet has the ridge on it,making it difficult to put a normal coupler over the outlet. So is it normally cut away or does dodge make a special coupler? thanks

Its not hard at all, like I said ive done many swaps before the issue became clud like you said.I got a very straightforward answer from cam like I wanted so thank you.

ok thanks for all the answers! but to keep things simple lol take the 240z return line out, put the evap line in, connect the efi lines to the exsisting 240z carb lines and im done? So many people have done the swap that I wouldnt think its as hard as you guys are making it sound right.Thanks and ive done many swaps maybe I just need to get the damn car and look at what you guys are talkin about to make it not complicated like it sounds.

yes I searched!! I will be puttin a l28et in a 240z or 260z soon, would I run fuel lines and an inline fuel pump and be ok just to get it running? or how would I do this? because I know the 240z is carb but im not sure about the 260z thanks.

thank you again jake!! lol thats what I was lookin for now the rb swap will be that much easier for me. Can you see about gettin that pinned jake? I know it will be useful for me when I start the build and ill be able to find it easy.

sorry guys I looked everywhere for a 280z rb build thread or write up, is there one for just the 280z and rb? thanks guys sorry but I really couldnt find it.

But for the auto to manual swap I was talkin about the pedal setup and if theres a cable setup or hydraulic setup on the 280z? once again I think im more than capable of doing this swap its just ive never ran into havin to do a auto to manual swap lol and I just wanna get an idea of what ill be dealin with before I dive into this swap.
