  1. I want to change my old front rotors on my 280Z and buy new 280ZX rear rotors. On my 280Z: The front calipers are a four piston from Toyota (S12) with standard rusted front 280Z rotor. The rear calipers come from a 280ZX 82-83 with standard rusted rear 280ZX rotor. I look for Slotted Brake Rotors with a protective rust. For the moment I found ROTORA sold by horsepowerfreaks.com. Is this a good product? Are there other product and seller to recommend? Thank Jack,
  2. Small interlude ( I hope "interlude" is an anglish word) As he need always more other parts for my rebuilt... few week ago... I bought an other 1976 "Z". He need than I specify: When I bought the Texas body, it come just the shell and the dashboard. Nothing more! No engine, no light, no glass, no seat... Nothing! So, you understand now why I bought another "Z". In fact, my 1978 "Z" was purchased in order to redo my "Texas ". But he was too good to demolish it. That is why I have two projects... Finally, with this new acquisition, I will take all the parts than he need for to finish my Texas body. As the body of my new acquisition is in poor condition, maybe I will make an other project: rat-race!!!! Return to my Texas body, The first part than I took on this "new acquisition" is the bracket for the inner shift boot: As I don't find this part, I decided to clean this old parts: Here, after many hour: Next, paint it! 8. Thanks for comments. Ok, I'll try to give more explanation. It is not easy for me to write in english... I hope don't make too much mistake... For restoring parts I use many product: Which product? It must try and try... For surface rust, I found a product called "Gotar". Unfortunately I lost the original container ... So I have no more details yet. This product is wonderful... To polish the metal I use my drill with a metal wheel for start; and I use a wheel of cotton with compound for the finish. Here is my most user tools: Yes, yes, I use it for clean all my dashboard... For the finish of my dashboard I used this shoe polish: But for to have a good result, I brush it long long time. If you brush long time, the polish go inside the material and the surface is no longer fat. No black stuff when you pass your fingers. For can polish, I modified a shoe brush for to fit on my drill: I used the same way to renew my black panel into the car. Again, the result was awesome! These are my basic tips ... Nothing extraordinary. It need just time and patience. Jack, ______________________
  9. Dashboard : Here the original dashbord from the Texas car: It was too broken for use it!!! So I fond a better one. but I have a lot of work before it becomes beautiful! Believe me, I was pretty discouraged before starting… Anyway, he need a dash and I don’t find better. Dismantling: I worked several hours without stopping. Brushing, washing, delist and remove a ton of " caterpillar cocoon" ... Yack! Finally and surprisingly, I reached some things not so bad It still to remove rust on the frame. I took the frame from Texas dasboard, because it was less rusty. Again, after hours, I reached some things not so bad! I cleaned and restore the gauges, wiring and other parts that constituted the dash. Exemple of parts: Before: After: The dashboard look better now: For the fun and see what happens, I turned on the gauges lights: Better with no light around: Cool, no? Now short story: Before After, front: After backside: And finally, packing for storage: I am very happy with my job... Next... The "controls" around the steering wheel: Jack ________________

  12. After to rebuilt my "Fred Flintstone floor boards" I isolated it. I bought these two products for soundproofing I put the first one on the floor. And the second one backwards (don't have picture). It is amazing as result... After all the inside parts back, I exchanged the 280Z wheel for the 240Z one. Before: After: And finally I changed my old school Mag for new one: Jack, ____________________
  13. The floor is restored and and now I use the engine instead of my feet Thanks, For front, I bought "four pistons caliper 4X4 Toyota" for standard rotors (not wide). For the rear, I bought a braket for use 280ZX 82-83 caliper. Now I look for the rotors. I want that will not rust! With slot and drilled. But for the moment I found nothing. Yes I want to drop it. Do you have pictures before-after with ST spring? I don't know this brand "ST". I look for shocks and springs. I look for illumina from Tokico; and maybe Eibach as spring. But I don't know if it is a good choice... Tokico have a kit with Tokico HP and their spring "designed" for 280Z and give drop about .5" Ã 1.5". Is it good? As you can see, I have many question about that. Jack, _______________
  14. Summer 2010 I installed my rear bumper It is a 240Z one. Like the bracket was there, two small holes at the good place and there: I still have to install the front bumper which is also the type 240Z... But for it, I don't have bracket. It need to improvise. Here the equation: Finally, I used parts from a canvas garage who broke during big wind during winter. See the picture: Some cotting, some holes and fiberglass... and here is the working: So, finally, bumper ready for installation: All fit perfectly! Outside finally finished!. Next step: inside.
