  1. Hi there,

    I have an 81 280zx with a T-56 in it,and I used a JTR kit.

I ordered the "regular" kit,not knowing that I was going to put in a T-56.

Had no problem using the stuff they sent me to put engine and tranny mounts together.

You might want to open up the tranny tunnel a bit. You should have no problems.

    Good luck

  2. I will also be selling the moustache bar, tockico shocks and everything else that comes off the car during the swap.

Oh, I also have a stroked 3.1 280zx motor with header and carbs(tripple webber's) that are for sale too

  3. Hi all,

I am fed up with my r200 cv/u-joint issues.

I have decided to swap out my r 200 lsd for a Ford 8.8.

Has anyone here done this swap?

If so,how much di you have to shorten the Ford rear end to fit into your 280?

Btw, anyone looking for an R200 LSD,with cv shafts, and spare u-joint shafts?

    I have a set for sale(lol)

  4. Hey guys,have a question.

I have a 406 sbc with 2 vents on the valve covers .

1 has a plain breather on it.

The other has a line to my intake manifold, just under the carb.

This is for the positive crankcase venting, right?

should I keep this connected? or should I put a breather on it too?

when it is connected, the car idles a bit higher, and feels smoother.

But I feel like I putting hot air into the intake. So your thoughts please?

  5. ok,so here's what I have: 406sbc.It dyno'ed 485hp/485ftlbs torque.

    T-56 trans,tokico ILLUMINA shocks,big sway bar/urethane bushings.

    16inch Falken radial tires(255/50/16)on rear.

280zxt cv shafts that I just bought and did the conversion from U-joints because it was supposed to be stronger? I think, lol

  6. Hi all.

Can ANYONE tell me what other options I have to keep my rear shafts from shearing off?

    I converted my 81 280zx U-joint half shafts to turbo cv's .

Still breaking at the track,on a street radial, and no burnout.

I am shearing the shafts righ off!!

    Help!?

  7. really? can I try to pry it at all?

the threaded stud looks oval too.

will I not damage the threaded parts with the cut off wheel?

Still kinda confussed, can u walk me through it?

    thanks

  8. Hey guys,got a question:

I'am in the process of swapping out my U -joints for CV joints.

How do I get the nut in the wheel hub out?

It looks like it's crimped on on 2 sides.

Is there a trick to getting it off?

  9. thanks for all the feed back guys!!

I have a roto-zip,so........................I went out and bought the steel cutting bit and the hole cutter tool. I will let you know how it goes,as well as getting some pics on here.

Btw, I had nooooo problem fitting 255/50/16'on this car. In fact I think I can go wider!!

  10. Well,Veritech,it's gonna be a round hole approximately 10 inches in diameter.

    I have a holley 650 carb with a Weiand Team "G" intake.

It may stick out about 1 inch or so.

I'm gonna leave it like this for a bit,but will eventually want to put a scoop over it. I was gonna get a f/g hood from that clown at "showcars",but after reading all the horror stories,I figure I might want to avoid him and a possible assault charge(lol).

Gonna take the car to the track this weekend to see what it does.

Should be fun,but right now I can cloce the hood with the air filter on it.

Not sure if I want to chance it by running without, and getting something in the intake.

  11. Hey guys(and girls,if any)!!

Wheeew! Finnaly got my sh%t together and got my car rolling.

    It sounds frikking great!

    I have a few questions/comments.

    So...,i put in a 406 sbc ( 485 horse/480 ftlbs torque)mated that to a T-56 tranny.

I used the stock clutch master with no problems. I read that I would have to change that. why?

Also used the stock rad, with electric fan(cyclone)that runs constantly as long as the ignition is on.

What is the widest tire I can put on the rear(16 by 7 inch rim)?
