  1. I have 76 Datsun, but I like the earlier model 70-73 bumpers, will they bolt on?
  2. Wondering if they sell lower fender patch panels and where, the panel is the lower fender area thats next to the lower part of the door.
  3. http://classifieds.hybridz.org/showproduct.php?product=2133&cat=12 I just want an earlier model. Plus too many cars are piling up.
  4. I'm telln you my friend can do anything, If I can get a 3d model cad of a datsun and then we get these mclaren f1 cad drawings, you will see what he can do. He already designed me a custom t3 turbo compressor.
  5. It Does not have to match the mc exactly, it could just have hints of it. If you want to pull it off, he can modify the mclarens fender a bit to bolt on the shell of the datsun, and then scale the front end down, it can be done. A car is not limited to its original design.
  6. I think it will look nice, if there is a 3d cad file for the datsun he can show you a 3d computer model, but where is that file if it exists? I just like the mclaren f1, and the datsun has good curves to match it.
  7. for datsun cars, u want the datsun fender template bolt pattern so my friend can modify the front end of the mclaren f1, so that it will bolt right on our stock fenders. its basically a modified top valance and lower valance panel of the mclaren f1, and hood. That ferrari work took alot of skillz and I dont think it can compare to a sheetmetal stamp mold, as far as quality and quantity. I mold I believe is 10,000 +, again my friend can estimate a cost for me, hes not in the usa either, so it will be cheaper to produce. But then again the more people to pitch in pay for the 10,000 ( if it was that much) the less it will cost each individual. For example 500 people /10,000 will be 20 bucks each.
  8. I just sent him an email, this is what I said. I was thinking will it be possible for you to modify the mclaren f1 front end cad drawings in solid works to fit the bolt pattern of the datsun fenders and the distance from one fender to the fender. It will be the mclaren front end bolted to the white datsun fenders in picture 4 ,instead of the black front end thats on it. Picture 3 is the datsun fender and picture 5 is the template bolt pattern of the fender. I will need cads of picture 5 so you can modify the mclaren f1 cad files to fit on it. I think I can get the cads by having the fender cmm scanned, reverse engineered , am I correct? Picture 1 and 2 is a body kit someone made that allows it to fit on the white datsun fenders in picture 4. I will have to get the cads of the mclaren f1 from this site http://projectdiablo.com/mclaren_buynow.html.
  9. Thats it I'm going to ask my friend right now what he thinks about the idea and estimate me a cost for modeling it. I'll let u know what he thinks
  10. We will get the template of the front bolt pattern of the fender and distance from one fender to the other, then we will divide the cost for getting the cad drawings of the mclaren f1 front end from http://projectdiablo.com/mclaren_buynow.html. Then Ill have my friend modify the mclaren f1 front end cad drawings in solid works a bit to make accomodate the bolt pattern of our fenders and the distance from one fender to the other. We can then get a mold and start stamp'n pieces out for whoever wants one.
  11. I dont know I can probably get an estimation, but I know it wont be too much. Its ok cause everybody will just pitch in. lets say to get the drawings modeled in the fender will be $500 (though I doubth it would be this high), then if 10 people pitch in it will be 50 bucks, if 20 people pitch in it will be 25 bucks each, Im sure theres a handfull of people who would want the kit. Since it was me and my brother, that turbo he made for us with the housing was around 800-1000. Turbos he told me is probably the most heaviest thing to model, if he can model a turbo he can model anything. I got quoted the same turbo job for 10,000, 2500, 3,000, not including the housing. You do the math.
  12. better yet, you can take your fender off your car and get it reversed engineered (cmm scanned) then once you have the 3d model for it, you modify the fender with your drawings, buy modeling them in it, my friend can do this. I will do it to, but everyone will have to pitch in to pay for the scan and the modification of the fender.
  13. Drift your first picture at the start of the thread is tight. The nice thing about it is that I have a professional 3d modeler friend who can actually model that whole front end in solid works, even the rear end as well. But he will need more detailed pictures and some dimensions, if you want to discuss this, and I can get him to model it. To let you know how crazy of a modeler he is I'll show you a picture of what he did for me, he designed me a turbo with a custom housing, and Im getting it cnc machined, should have it this week or next. If you want I can talk to him and ask him what info he will need from you to model it. He will charge (it shouldnt be high), but if a handful of us pitch in, it will be cheap, we can even pitch in to get a mold designed and produce the parts! I'm all for it.
  14. What must I do to convert my car to turbo, someone lay the list down as I know there are many people who are running boost, I dont need to re-invent the wheel.
  15. where did you get it, and how did you modify your back end, it looks like a pantera back end? where is the kits? show me more pics of your car i like it.
  16. I think a ferrari 348 front end kit on our z's would like coo. I know a site thats going to get autocad files for it, the front end cad files, then if I give my engineering friend some dimensions of the z's original fenders other dimensions of the firewall he will be able to modify the ferrari cad's and make the ferrari front end kit. There is a site that will make kits. http://www.makemykit.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=3&sid=966a60679664c211866b38d2b8065220 Take a look at some ferrari 348 front ends, and you will see what I mean. What do you think.
  17. I just got a 1983 280zx, t-top, 5 speed, straight six, for free. It runs but it needs work, no rot outs, in good shape. What body kits can go with this? Will the g nose fit and a pantera end? Show some pics or links. This car looks like it can be modded to a ferrari f40, seems like you can do alot with it.
