  1. There are only a handful of sports cars on the market right now that get my approval. I just cant stand these overweight sports cars with millions of features. Coming from a 16 year old that goes to a high school where there are kids with 2007 BMW's, Audi's, even Mercedes, I just cant stand the new "sports" cars. Sure my tiny 240z isn't as comfy as these new cars but its way more fun to drive, cheaper, gets more attention than any beemer out there(sorta hate how it does), and I can kill the sports cars the kids at my school drive with me behind the wheel. I don't want to sound like im bragging but these dumba$$ kids have these 300+hp sports cars and have no idea how to drive and use the car.

But I must admit that the amount of engineering these new sports cars get are quite impressive, even though most of it is unnecessary. I've driven one of my classmates 2007 335ci(see what i mean) and it is amazing how comfortable the drive is yet when you take a corner quick and floor it after the apex it just takes it and asks for more. But ya...my datsun is better. :-P

I know how you feel man almost every 2nd and 1st class on my base drives either an EVO,STI,05 style stang or something. Now my measily old MR2 will not take them off the line or from a roll from that matter. BUT,with a good driver and a cornering advantage it makes for a good show.

  2. I already have my future sports car. I don't really care too much about the pseudo, facsimile, wannabe, un-affordable, exotic stuff, anymore. Don't get me wrong, I like some of them but they are no substitute for the smelly, bumpy, loud, hard-to-drive, monsters of the past.

    That's why I love my MR2 :flamedevi:flamedevi

  3. Nah,

the Caymen and the Z4 go back to the first posters response "They are just in such expensive vehicles that it puts them out of the price range of the average hobbist." What I want to see is more affordable balls to the wall sports cars for the price. I think the market is missing those cars. Sure I could go out and "buy" a 350Z but I wont exactly be able to eat or maintains my uniforms either...lol.Everything in my age groups price range is either used (nothing wrong their) or suited for young parents as if automakers are like "well they'll probably knock someone up before the get a chance to enjoy this one so will just throw them something lame..ROFLMAO.

  4. Some would say the Z stopped being a Z in the 80's and other would argue change did not hurt the Z. However, after the recent comeback of the Z as the 350Z I can't say I'm to pleased with the direction of the Z or sports cars in general for that matter. I do like it's bottom end torque, handling, and SOME of the styling cues. What I don't like is it's massive weight and twitchy steering. To me it looks like sports cars ( perticularly the Z ) are getting more watered down and idiot proof. What happened to the agressive monster track machines that where hardly street legal from the past ?:flamedevi:icon56::burnout:

  5. so im doing a custom install w/an eaton M90 on my 87' SE 200sx/s12 (vg30e) . i have the complete unit sitting, i have all my adapter plates, brackets, etc, etc made, but i have one last thing to do...thats the bypass valve. now its gonna be a complete pain in the ass to plumb and i was wondering if its kosher to run a BOV on a blower? sorry, this might be a dumb question, but im a turbo guy and blowers are fairly new to me. anyhow, i have a BOV sitting on the shelf and this would WAY simplifiy my install. would it just be constantly making a 'blowing off' sound as the engine would be turning the blower? could i just put the TB after the blower? any info would be greatly appreciated!! thanks in advance

Yes, it will work, you mount it the same way you would on a turbo application.:icon46:

  6. I haven't seen an LS1, but a member here named Alf has an SVC with a chevy 350 ....he is also selling a mount kit for it. I am not sure if it would work with the ls1?

nah, ls1 is s much smaller motor then the lt1 and the mounts sit further back. I'm asking because I belive it would go in a whole hell of alot easier then the lt1.

  7. no.

    The stock engine makes 200HP for 84-87s and 205HP for 88-89s' date=' all VG30ETs make 227TQ. 84-87s use the T3 turbo and 88-89s use the T25.

In case you hadn't noticed yet, advertisers don't always represent themselves accurately. For your information (in case you don't have a calculator handy), a stock turbo Z has around 170 rear wheel hp

  8. You can go even higher then that becuase the n/a motor is only like 9:1 compression there have been cars known to do over 600+hp on 10:1 and higher. It's all in the tunning to be honest also the VG's technically came with froged Mahle pistons and rods so go for the gold.

  9. Well it's around 170hp stock(wich was kick *** for it's day),aftermarketis weak compared to any civic,integra,240,Z32,Supra, or WRX for that matter. Motor has been known to do 1000 EXTREMELY modified and just over 500 in stock trim. In all reality as long as you upgrade everything thing with the same area when doing modifications. making power shouldn't be hard until you start making over 400hp. To obtain 400hp you're talking intercooler, intake(wich are relatively useless in a turbo car),FPR(fuel pressure regulators, plugs(cooler ones),boost controllers, turbo itself as I don't the stock T3 lasting very long after 17psi,turbo timer(your turbo will thank you),3inch exuast,etc...

  10. Can someone please explain to me why you can have one mass air let you just idle and another not idle but let you go to redline ? Same car as last time (87 300zx turbo) with the funky compression and so forth. Has killer oil leaks, oil pan gasket is non-existent and turbo return was a slacked job. Put the intake mani back to near stock jost about everything is hooked up except IACV and PCV valve. I'm going to hook those back up and see how much further I get in the mean time I'll try not to burn this damn car to the ground. The good news is it starts by the key and fuel pump works consistently :D .
