It's gone into quite a few SR, KA, and VG swapped 510s and no issues what so ever.
Hmm, this might be a stupid question but could the CAN/AM box be used for a L28ET+VG30ET harness and ECU to 240Z swap too?

I'm running 16 X 8's (0 offset) all around on my 71' Z and they fit just fine w/ the Toyota 4 piston calipers..they look great too!
Looks good
Do the XXR 513 wheels require centering rings on a s30? And what size in that case?
I have centered them on my car only with the lug nuts, but I haven't driven the car that much yet so I'm wondering if there will be problems without centering rings.

z-ya, that engine looks great in the S30! Do you have more pics?
What kind of engine mounts did you use?

I installed Tokico HP shocks and springs on my stock 240Z -70. They were bought a couple of years ago, and been waiting for this project.
The rear (non-progressive) springs are fine, but I have the same situation with the front (progressive) springs as mentioned earlier in this topic. Can I use them or should I buy a set of other springs?
Ok, I read the topic again. Should have read more carefully the first time, sorry So it's normal that the first coils on progressive springs are compressed.

I went to a local tyrestore and they had only 19mm M12x1.25, so I bought them. I'll test them tomorrow, if they don't work I'll order a set of "tuner" lugnuts.
They didn't work, so I'll get a set of tuner lug nuts.

What kind of lug nuts should be used with the XXR 513? Would these be ok: http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/WWC01/25-2013 ?

I know for a fact that the rims will fit with both the vented and non vented toyota brake kits.
As for the your tire fitment question i can't say for sure. Maybe somone can chime in here.
I would go to your local tire store and have them install one of each tire. then you can see if they rub or not.
Thank you for the information regarding the brakes
Yes, testing both tires would probably be the safest way to know. I'll just have to get the suspension first installed.

I have to ask about the XXR 513 wheels (16x8, 0 offset). Is there any clearance issues with them if I use the Toyota brakecalipers for solid discs on my 240Z?
My second question is about the tires. I know this has been discussed a lot, but I didn't manage to find an answer to my question. I have Tokico blues / Tokico springs kit for the car (not installed yet), will I be able to use 225/45/16 tires or would 215/45/16 be better? Before the car was painted I had the fender lips rolled just a little.

Heres mine.. nothing special but gets the job done. XXR 513 16x8 0 offset with 225/50/16.yes it would but i have no problem with fitting 225 50 16 on there right now. no rubbing at all.
Looks good Have you lowered the car, or is it stock height?

What's the paint code for the factory orange?
-
is it me or did they not get the 2 seater z31 in finland/sweden.
all the ones on the s30z.info sister sites are all 2+2.
Yep, here in Finland we got only 2+2 versions. Same situation with the 280ZX.
-
-
Two. The first was a 1980 2+2 non-turbo, and the second was 1982 2+2 non-turbo.
Hope to have a 280ZXT 2-seater some day.

Thanks for the help. I'll start the project in a month or so and I'll take a look at the parts I've got and ask more questions if I can't figure out how to complete the swap.
As blairjj asked, which Hurst shifter did you use Mike C?
Anyone, does the speedo cable from an early 240Z fit the 280ZXT T5?
-
I've been searching and reading old topics about the s130 T5-swap into a early 240Z:s. I feel I still need to make some questions, I hope these things haven't been covered too many times earlier
If I've understood it correctly, these things needs to be considered:
- the driveshaft will need to be changed (becouse the early 4-speed drivershaft is different). I'll also use a moustache bar from a later model s30 to move the R180 diff.
- the trans mount has to be changed somehow so the T5 will fit.
- probably need to cut the opening in the transmission tunnel, for the shifter.
I would like to know what else do I need to know before this swap?
The car will have an L26 swapped at the same time. Will I have any issues with the clutch? Will the speedo cable fit in the T5 or do I need a different one? Anything else I've missed?

Looks to be a really nice car!!! Great find!

I DEMAND more pics of the orange one!!!!!
Yes, more pics if possible! Those flares looks so awesome on that s130

Really really nice to see that the project continues. The videos by mull are great as usual

Hey toecutter, great work I really liked the vid!

I had one of those on my 280ZX before I sold the car. Pretty nice frontspoiler, and it didn't break even if it got some hits.

Great information Tony D, thanks

I have zero experience about turbo-engines so I to have ask this newbie-question
I've been reading most of the carbed turbo -topics here, but I would still like to ask what the biggest issues are about dailydriving a L-engine with triple carbs (e.g. Webers) and blowthrough turbo + intercooler?
I've always liked the looks and the sound on these old-school setups, so I would really like to have one some day. Just a bit scared about all the warnings how difficult they are to keep in good condition. Are they really difficult to work with and is there any particular books or websites that should be read before starting such a project?
Sorry if I've have asked questions that have already been answered here before
