  1. Check out www.wyotech.com The school is over in Laramie Wyoming . And I will most likely make a trip to the campus over the summer to check it out, and then i will begin courses on september 29th. Now i just need to find a job so i can have money once i get there... and learn more than just the basics of welding... thanks, Joe
  2. Hi everyone, I went out to vacaville yesterday and met with an admissions rep for Wyotech. Now i'm enrolled to begin school at the end of september! I'm taking the Automotive tech and 2 hot rod courses (chassis fab and high perf engines, and street rod and custom fabrication). I'm very excited to actually be enrolled, now all I've got to do is get my GED, a job, and get my Z ready for the 15 hour drive... (it made it to vacaville....but it was a "shaky" drive). Anyhow, just wanted to let you guys know that a hybridz enthusiast is getting into the business. Joe
  3. I found two things that resemble what i am looking for: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2402698552&category=6774 http://www.aerpro.com/cgi-bin/product.cgi?pcode=AP170&make=&model= I may not even worry about an antenna, i have CDs and i despise commercials... Joe.
  4. I see, I sorta tested it and the quality wasn't what i was hoping for (maybe if i have a good connection). I'll try to find a proper window antenna too though, because as demidion said, i think i remember reading about radio antennas being "tuned" to recieve the signals clearly... I was looking at my mother's civic and it appeared to me that they used the defroster for the antenna... but maybe i was missing something because... i dont enjoy looking at hondas for more than a couple minutes at a time for some reason. Thanks, Joe

    nicest Z

those bolt on flares look ok, i would use bondo or something to smooth them out and fit them to the body a bit better... but the nicest looking Z... http://www.zparts.com/showcase/wczn20/pages/00r11f13.htm http://www.zparts.com/showcase/wczn20/pages/00r11f14.htm right there... i envision a G-nose though, and some small rear spoiler (just because ive been reading the post on aerodynamics). Joe.
  6. I meant to try it today, but i started working on carpeting the back hatch area. I'll make sure to try it tomorrow... Joe.
  7. Hey guys, i was brainstorming a cheap way to replace my broken power antenna... would hooking a spliced antenna wire to both posts of the rear defroster work? If anyone has tried anything like that, i would be interested in hearing about it... if not i think i will be trying it out tomorrow. later, Joe.
  8. We should Have a HybridZ Political party! Just think if we administrated the US instead of the current government... Joe.
  9. I'm not looking to put a stock fusible link in... I would like to switch over to the "blade type" fuses. thanks for your help, Joe
  10. I would be interested in seeing the front/ back of that car. I'm thinking about using that body as a light suggestion for the custom body work i have planned for my car. The differences would be: A modified/smoothed G-nose shaved door handles functional front/rear brake ducts and i would get rid of any "sharp lines" that are on the door panel and the fender. but i want to do everything with metal rather than fiberglass....(bolt on, maybe a tilt front end...) That is a year or two down the road though... (I just got the car back on the road after a unibody swap...) plus i need to get the tools, and supplys, and some education on the process under my belt... later, Joe
  11. It's a crime for the government to be putting you through this ****. Why do they even bother with productive people/ (i have no question mark!) I mean i can understand going after low-lifes, murderers, and the like. but not just for observing your constitutional rights. They can't even let a man have a hobby nowadays. (hmmm, someone is having fun, that isn't good for AMERICA*) *the land of diminishing freedom. Give em' hell, (in that reduced sentence sort of way) Joe.
  12. I was wondering if anyone knew what the rating of the fusible link between the battery and the EFI wiring harness is. (77 280Z) Basically, what fuse should i install there? thanks for your time, Joe
  13. , being comfortable only makes you drive slower.... if it's 30 degrees outside, and you have no heater.... you can make very good time... more seriously though, I would say: Seats cup holder Good sound/heat insulation, Nice smooth suspension... and the biggest thing in my book... proper maintenance, unhappy noises and shakes from your car are possibly the most unpleasant thing that you can experience while driving... Joe.

  15. heh, i remember when i first found that newgrounds site.... I must have spent a straight week playing all those stupid games...(absolutely hilarious stuff though) Joe.
  16. That's kinda where i came out on that Mudge... The 305 is a nice sturdy engien, and would be great for the Z. But for horsepower goals i have in mind, it just isnt going to be cost effective... It is still up in the air as to which engine i am going to use. I'm mixed between the SC 3800(for gas mileage, and smooth power, I wouldnt be going for more than 300-350HP from it though) The 383(maybe with a vortech SC) LTI/LTI stroked to 383. Lexus V8 (probably not cost effective) and a couple of other engines that i dont think are practical... Decisions decisions, (much easier made with MONEY! Joe.
  17. It's ok Dan, your car is very cool. I guess i should look into just building the 383 stroker with TPI? (although that motor puts the chevy conversion another year down the road.or more...) thanks for your time, Joe. (NOTE: i know a guy with a 305 long block for around $140-150, e-mail me if you're interested)
  18. I say weld a full tube frame to fit under the Z body... think how easy it would be to work on if you could just lift the body off... Joe.
  19. lol.... (you should know that the people here are power maniacs...) check out the Quad cam lexus thread right below this one...(Edit: now i feel stupid, i just realized that you've already posted there...) 280 HP stock with lots of room to grow... Joe
  20. I got a nice tool set for christmas from costco... Mastercraft or somthing like that... it is a full toolbox that keeps everything organized( a real problem for me most of the time...) I havent broken any of them yet...they seem pretty sturdy. Joe
  21. Look at it this way... When the time comes that you want more power, it would be cheaper to achieve 500+ HP out of the lexus than out of the l28...(if it is even possible to build a 500+ HP l28 that would have any notion of streetability..) I would go for the lexus just the "COOL" factor... Just my opinion, Joe.
  22. Overkill: Pronunciation: 'O-v&r-"kil Function: noun Date: 1958 1 : a destructive capacity greatly exceeding that required for a given target 2 : an excess of something (as a quantity or an action) beyond what is required or suitable for a particular purpose 3 : killing in excess of what is intended or required as a verb: Pronunciation: "O-v&r-'kil Function: transitive verb Date: 1957 : to obliterate (a target) with more nuclear force than required You arent using Uranium right? Joe.
  23. Yes, the 10, 12, and 14 mm tools loves to escape the rigors Z mechanics put them through. luckily i havent lost any in a couple months now... but i would spend up to an hour looking for a stupid socket... I have another theory: The only Socket that will roll down your driveway and right into the drain, is always the most important one... Not only that, but the most likely time for this to occur.. is when you are on your back underneath your car, and all you can do is watch the socket roll.... It must be a CONSPIRACY! Joe. (has anyone else heard thier sockets talk about forming a Union?)
