  1. Can you tell me what each of these are, as in there purpose and what fluid they use and if they are low, can they just be filled, or is there a process needed to go through, cleaning etc. Thanks 1974 datsun 260z
  2. anyone offer some advice.... i cant get one of the u clamps to connect to the rack, there is to much of a gap to get the bolt to connect to it
  3. Sorry if I overlooked this info in searching but couldnt find it, Im getting ready to replace the rack bushings (Rubber Rack Mounts) and before I start taking everything off I figured I would stop by for some advice on the best way to go about replacing them, I have included a pic. Thanks in advance Dustin ~74 260Z
  4. Ok finally got the video and audio. I also got the car appraised at 12.5k yesterday which is quite exciting since I bought it for 3500 ~years ago, nice to see that Ill have some coverage for insurance.
  5. Ill try to get around to a vid. with sound, but its alot more quite than my flowmaster which makes me sad. wish there was a way to fix that, but ive heard there is a break in period so it may get louder as it goes on. The color is a LeMans Metallic Blue as seen on the new 06 corvettes. And I would love to do a v8 swap and tranny but I dont have that kind of money, so its a project that will be adressed in a couple years
  6. PICS! The exhaust wrap on it makes a huge difference, keeps the heat shields very cool so no risk of burns
  7. Sure do, kinda took a bit of work on the passenger side to keep from losing any ground clearance so it seems lol Ok its smaller now
  8. ... Not sure if this is the right place to do this, but I just wanna show it off. July 3rd 2006 Day before paint. Sept. 13 2006 Day after Side pipes Sunroof, Sidepipes new struts and other suspension work but mostly outer body work. Just kinda wanted to show her off
  9. But if i get coilovers to lift the car, will I have to replace the perches? and if so what do i have to do? I dont do any welding or anything like that but if its bolt on bolt off stuff i can manage P.S. I just have basic (monroe) struts in my car, so im not sure if its possible to adjust the height of the car with those cosmo racing springs with my regular struts? (Simply put, I want to raise the ride height of my car ~2 Inches without any permanent changes) http://www.cosmoracing.com/productin...d=259&pid=1556
  10. hmm that sounds like a pretty good suggestion clifton, would someone mind explaining to me though, the concept behind coilover springs and how they are adjustable (rate and height wise). And do i still get those options with these springs? http://www.cosmoracing.com/productinfo.asp?cid=259&pid=1556 Im assuming these just replace the old springs and no modification is necessary? Or extra parts to buy? Just kind of wondering more of how much I can raise them from stock height once applied & if these springs will allow it to actually get higher, or only lower my Z Thanks for the info
  11. Ok, hopped onto ebay, and found these, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Front-OEM-Coil-Springs-76-87-Chevette-81-87-T1000-NEW_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33582QQihZ017QQitemZ270017372342QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V they say that they are for the front, OEM, springs but I was wondering if they would work for the rear, I onlly want to lift the rear up. And would yall mind elaborating on the dangers of a 2-4 inch lift and how much these chevette springs would lift the rear, and how high is to high. And does it matter what year chevette they come out of? Not sure if 81-87 was t he only year they made them or not.... And isnt it dangerous to cut springs? I have never done it so I have no idea just sounds a bit shady :/ but if it not thats cool and just curious as to how much you cut them and how high it sat with you in the car if you can recall. Thanks a bunch for the info (P.S. Im assuming the chevette springs fit right in place of the old ones and no mod. is necessary?)
  12. Yes interesting, I am actually looking to lift the back end of my 260z by 2-4 inches rather than lowering it, if anyone knows of any springs that could be interchanged to accomplish this please fill me in. And I am looking to do this just because I would kind of like to try something different
  13. Well I went ahead and ordered them in, and I will do some work to see how to mount them for ground clearance, these are 3" with a heat shield so im assuming about 3.5" - 4" total. And Cozy could you post me some pics or email them to me of the side pipes on your Z so I can see how you mounted them? And does anyone know about how how the heat shields will get? I have heard that the heat will transfer through the brackets and they will get just as hot, but I went ahead and bought some exhaust wrap for them to wrap the area under the shields. Hopefully it will help some, I would hate to see any burns come from this. Does anyone know how much heat the exhaust wrap will stop? I dont mind if it still makes the heat shields get hot but not hot enough to burn someone badly.
  14. I was wondering if someone could give me some info on side pipes on the stock inline six, what is the best way to run side pipes? My guess was to weld it to the header where its comes into 2 pipes, and then run off some custom pipes into 90's for the side pipes. But if anyone has actually ever done this and can give some more detailed information on what I need to do that would be great pics would be great also. Also some info on how high they should be mounted to not worry about ground clearance (hitting speed bumps) would be nice Thanks
