  1. I will do that. Thanks for the reference material it will help with other improvements:-D. Jon
  2. Okay, I did a search, but did not see this one. I have replaced the turn signal lamps on my '76 280z. I have the factory two black and green and one black wire from the harness to connect to the black and white wires on the new LED signal. HELP???? any ideas? white to black and two green and black to black two green and black to white the two green and blacks to black white to black and one green and black to black and one to frame any ideas? Wiring, why me lord?
  3. fuses in tack maybe switch anyone got a turnsignal and wiper assembly I can get a deal on?
  4. I did disconnect and then individually tape the sidemarker leads. Hoping I would not cause a short. No fuses are blown so maybe I need to ground the lights. Can I do that at the point closest the the tail lights or do I need to open up the panels again to ground the actual sidemarker negative lead? Thoughts? PS I dont recall, but does anyone know the color of the ground wire to the side marker light assenblies? Thanks for all the feedback, elevtrical I don't do so well. Hence my blinker fluid comment in signature.
  5. Will eliminating the side marker lights have any effect on the rear tail lights. Since I disconnected the marker lights the rear tail lights don't work. The brakes and turn signals and headlights are all fine. The interior dash lights and rear tail lights no longer work. Any ideas? My horn don't work either but that's because the little under U shaped metal piece broke off at the plastic so I need a new turn signal. If you have one let me know, I can't see paying a hundred buck for a new one. Thanks I know so little about electrical and the local place I went to said the car was to old to tell. It's not old it's a classic I said, as I left two black marks leading out the drive. PS I searched the site and didn't find help in the 12 pages I searched through. So this isn't a post without a search.

  7. Or, where can I get a replacement and what is it called thanks Jon
  8. I think this is some sort of an automatic choke or something. Notice it has a brokin cap I think was a vaccume line or something. Is this an automatic choke or what? Can I get rid of it some how, and what are the repercusions.
  9. Okay, the spring on the throttle that returns it to starting position when you let off the accelerator. It hook to the arm at the front end of the throttle linkage to a point bellow it. I tried to bend a new one and sliced my thumb in two. Now I still need this spring and dont want to keep breaking tempered springs and slicing myself up. Ideas on what the spring is called and where to get one with the right tension? Help Thanks Jon:-x
  10. I am tempted to just switch over to carbs if anyone wants to add input for that. I think that would eliminate the issue. Thoughts:icon11:?
  11. Thanks guys, I will try these recommendations this week and report back on the results. Jon PS Is this a good reason to do a engine swap? LOL, wife would kill me, ya know how it is? I am already in dog house for getting the car and making it a project over her protest. LOL, I AM THE MAN < didnt back down> now I get to hear about it >LOL<
  12. Yes welded many things. Most recently three days ago but drove it a couple times since So dont think thats it, but where could one get a 76 computer to swap it out? Anyone got a spair?
  13. I have been driving my project car around now for nine months as I work on the body. It always starts on the first turn of the key. I drove it today and then worked on the body again and it woud not start (I know the engine is jelous right). I know little about engines so I brought a certified BMW/Mercedes/Audi mechanic over (I know, but I couldn't find a Nissan mechanic) and we did the following -installed guage to check fuel presaure and it is at 40psi -pulled and cleaned the plugs -pulled the rotor and dist cap and cleaned the contacts -checked and found spard in the distributer and at the plugs -checked the airflow flap thing and it is working -checked the relay for the fuel pump and it is ok -checked the connections at the fuel pump and it gets juice -checked the injectors and they are getting signal so what it does is wont start, it ran fine this am parked it then this afternoon it didnt want to start it cranks and fires and sounds like it wants to start but it doesnt I did get it to start one time after the onset of the issue and it smoked out the exhaust and the mechanic said it smelled rich when cranking it smells of gas like it gets flooded, he thought the throttle body air unit may have a leak and pulled the hose off to find none I have another airflow sensor thing he wants to switch out for grins When it is cranking it turns over and sounds like it is going to fire off and go but never does. The mechanic cant seem to figure it out, but said it is almost as if the timing if off, which he will check tommorow, but I didnt pull the distributor to mess that up Any ideas , anyone? I did have it low on gas and all we had was some race fuel handy and put in a gallon it wouldnt start, then I added five gallons regular unleaded to thin out the rase fuel so it wasnt too rich or high an octane, but that allegedly wont hurt it I was told. HELP:?: PS I have changed the oil, fuel lines, fuel filter, air filter, heater hoses, radiator hoses, and been maintaining it so it is not like it has been neglected. I been doing normal maitenance
  14. LOL, not done yet gonna suck it back about three inches then paint it black so it blends well into the front grill area. I will give side pick soon as that is done right now it sits forward 3" too far for my taste.
