  1. I ran ducts from my BRE like chin spoiler tie wrapped to the rotor dust shield. I found duct work really didn't have as much of an effect as good fluid, regularly changed. I assume your fluid was from a fresh container? I had similar issues until I went to Motul RBF600. No ad for them, but the stuff solved a bunch of my issues. I also had a brain adjustment with how I was using the brakes as well. Shorter period of time but harder on the pedal instead of longer easier.
  2. After I read this thread I was a little nervous. I just bought set of Diamond 14x7 for my 240Z. When I talked with Bill he indicated that the larger stock car wheels use a 45degree, but any of the 13" or 14" wheels have the 60 degree seat for stock lug nuts. I'll have to look tonight when I get home. He indicated it was based on the wheel stud diameter in the wheel.
  3. Jon - New to the site and to Z's. It has been a wealth of information. I went down a similar but slightly different path. I'm using the same fuel cell, but chose to mount it so that I could adjust the height and angle. I spent some time with the SCCA GCR and our local Midwest Council rules. 6 inches of clearence from the ground at ride height is required. Since I didn't have a lot of experience with these cars I thought adjustable was the best. I agree that getting hit in the rear would be an issue with this design. Just hoping that doesn't happen. I did add bracing at the lower edge of the rear valance and added a jack point for the rear of the car. Thanks for all the great posts and info. Don
  4. Having tried various ways of bending tubing over the years, I have found that for repeatability and minimal messing around having the right tool makes a lot of sense. A friend had the ProTools version of the JD2 mechanical hand bender. It worked fine, but needed a permanent floor mount. I have a version of the Low Buck Tools which is similar to the Speedway. They work good and didn't break the bank. Since most of the race car building I have done is all 1.5" and 1.75" DOM 0.95 wall I only have those dies. Here is the Low Buck take on the pipe versus tubing benders... http://www.lowbucktools.com/benderFAQ.html
  5. I have been down the pipe versus tubing bender. I like the Speedway Bender or a similar one from Low Buck Tools. http://www.lowbucktools.com/benderFAQ.html I'll add my 2 cents to the bender thread.
  6. New to Z cars and just building my first, a '71 240. My u joint at the rack is way too worn out to use. After trying Courtesy Nissan in Texas who referred me to MSA, who then referred me back to Courtesy. Since Nissan no longer makes this part what have you guys done? Am I to understand that their is no replacement part here? Having built plenty of stock cars I searched through those catalogs and came up empty handed. Mr. Woodward might be right in the sense that taking off the shelf stuff might be more cost effective. So I figured two paths, either find the u joint trunion bearing itself or adapt over to full on race car stuff. But I still need the 0.56" 28 spline female at the rack. Worst case I'm searching for used stuff if anyone has anything... Thanks
